JAMESON TAILLON: The 26-year-old righthander is making his fourth official appearance/third start of the spring today...Most recently threw 96 pitches in 5.2 innings of action in a minor league game on 3/2...His last Grapefruit League start was a win on 3/16 vs. Braves (5.0ip/1h/1r/1er/2bb/5so)...Threw 62 pitches in 4.0 innings against minor leaguers at Pirate City on 3/9...Made first start on 3/4 at Twins (2.2ip/2h/2r/2er/1bb/0so)...Also pitched 2.0 scoreless innings of relief and struck out three batters on 2/26 vs. Red Sox...Went 8-7 with a 4.44 ERA in 25 starts with the Pirates during the 2017 season...Surrendered just 10 home runs in 133.2ip and ranked third among N.L. pitchers with a 0.74 HR/9.0ip ratio...Was on the D.L. from 5/4 thru 6/11; underwent testiular cancer surgery on 5/8...Was Pittsburgh’s first round selection and the second pick overall in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft (Bryce Harper went first).
