The 15-member team went to help build homes and reach out to the poor. “Documenting the beautiful country and people of Haiti was remarkable and I’m glad others felt the same,” the East County resident said. “To see these people walking for miles, dressed immaculately, coming from tents and huts, to praise and thank God in the midst of all their chaos surround- ing them ... Traveling from San Diego, California, this was a ma- jor eye opener. It was a low blow, but in a good way. A story was just forming from the early morning of day one. I couldn’t help but document everything from that point on.” While devastation abounded, documenting the joy of the Hai- tian Christians became a top pri- ority.
