WINTER ACTIVITY DAY – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2017 Chief Peguis Junior High is having a Winter Activity Day. On Friday, February 17, students will be able to participate in a variety of activities that encourage physical activity. On December 13, students will have the chance to sign up for one of the following activities described below. Please be aware some activities have a minimum and/or maximum number of participants. Any students who bring in their activity fees on December 13 will be guaranteed their spot unless the maximum has already been reached. Classes will be randomly called down to sign up during the morning.

Activity 1 Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, Mini-Golf Location: U-Puttz Amusement Centre Cost: $27.00 Unlimited access to laser tag, bumper cars and mini golf also includes a $5.00 arcade game card. Maximum number of students: 80 Staff Supervisors: Ms. Haider, Mr. Knight, Mr. Camuyong and Ms. Nishizeki

Activity 2 Winter Activities Location: The Forks Cost: $5.00 Students will be able to participate in skating (both on the river trail and under the canopy), tobogganing, snowboarding and hiking at the Arctic Glacier Winter Park. Skates are available for rent ($3.00 per pair). Students will need to provide their own snowboards, toboggans, helmets and dress appropriately for the weather. Maximum number of students: 120

Activity 3 Cross-Country Skiing/ Sleigh Ride Location: Bird’s Hill Park Cost: $20.00 Come explore Bird’s Hill Park. Students will enjoy skiing the trails in the morning and then a sleigh ride after lunch. Outdoor winter clothing is required. Lunch is included. Maximum number of students: 40 Staff Supervisors: Mr. Malmquist, Ms. Rouire, Ms. Steinhoff and Ms. Bobinski

Activity 4 Rock Climbing, Skateboarding and Gym Activities Location: Youth 4 Christ Cost: $15.00 Students will be able to use the gym, rock wall and atrium area (bouldering wall, video games, pool tables, etc.) and skateboarding facilities. At over 13,000 sq.ft, The Edge Skatepark houses a wide variety of ramps, street features, and a concrete bowl. Helmets and pads are required for skateboarding. Activity 5 Indoor Soccer Location: Skylight Cost: $20.00 Get your KICKS with this activity!!!! Students will practice drills and learn new skills. Maximum number of students: 24 Staff Supervisors: Ms. Bohemier and Mr. Martens

Activity 6 Gym and Outdoor Activities Location: Chief Peguis Junior High Cost: Free Students will have an opportunity to participate in gym activities in the morning and spend the afternoon outdoors. Maximum number of students: 30 Staff Supervisors: Mr. Faseruk

Activity 7 Skiing and Snowboarding Location: Stony Mountain Ski Area Cost: Skiing Equipment, Lesson and Lift Ticket $35.00 Lesson and Lift Ticket only $30.00 Snowboarding Equipment, Lesson and Lift Ticket $45.00 Lesson and Lift Ticket only $30.00 Spend the day on the slopes of Stony Mountain Ski Area. Skiing or snowboarding is available for students of all levels of ability. Outdoor clothing and helmets are required. Activity 8 Snow Tubing Location: Adrenaline Adventures Cost: $25.00 Specially groomed hills are open for tubing featuring a variety of bumps and lots of speed. For those seeking something a bit more adrenaline-pumping, there are some extreme snow tubing lanes which will have you yelling in delight all the way down. Outdoor clothing and helmets are required. Maximum number of students: 80 Staff Supervisors: Mr. Lewicki, Ms. Robins, Mr. Nemeth, Ms. Sovinska and Mr. Sigurdson

Activity 9 Outdoor Skills Location: Centre Cost: $15.00 A snowshoe hike, fire and shelter building, orienteering, tobogganing and a bannock bake are all part of Winter Fun Days at Fort Whyte. Outdoor clothing and helmets are required. Maximum number of students: 40 Staff Supervisors: Ms. Paulsen, Ms. Griffith-Parker and Mr. Paterson
