Weight restrictions are stated as a percentage of legal allowable weight and shall be applied to the maximum axle loading of 17 AAC 25.013(e).

The Central Region boundaries extend from Homer on the Sterling Highway and Seward on the to Mile 118 on the and Mile 163 on the Parks Highway. The Dillingham and Bethel road systems are also included within the Central Region.

Bold typeface indicates new restrictions/modifications since the last public notice.

Effective Monday, May 11th at 8:00 A.M. The following State maintained roads are restricted to the following:

AREA-WIDE WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

All State maintained paved roads in the Anchorage, Eagle River, and Girdwood areas (south of the Eklutna Interchange and north of Highway – 100% no overloads.

All State maintained gravel roads in the Anchorage, Eagle River, and Girdwood areas (south of the Eklutna Interchange and north of – 75%

All State maintained paved roads in the Matanuska-Susitna area (south of Parks Hwy MP 163 / south of Glenn Hwy MP 118 and north of the Eklutna Interchange) – 75%.

All State maintained gravel roads in the Matanuska-Susitna area (south of Parks Hwy MP 163 / south of Glenn Hwy MP 55 (Moose Creek) and north of the Eklutna Interchange) – 50%.

All State maintained paved roads in the area (south of Portage Glacier Highway) – 75%

All State maintained gravel roads in the Kenai Peninsula area (south of Portage Glacier Highway) – 50%

All State maintained paved roads in the Dillingham area – 100% No Overloads

All State maintained gravel roads in the Dillingham area– 75%

All State maintained paved and gravel roads in the Bethel area – 75%

INDIVIDUAL ROAD WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Individual roads that vary from the Area-Wide Weight Restrictions:

The following roads are restricted to 100% of legal axle load, no overloads: Glenn Highway – MP 0 to MP 54 (5th Ave to Moose Creek) Parks Hwy – MP 34 to 88 Portage Glacier Road Seward Highway – MP 75-125

The following roads are restricted to 85% of legal axle load, with 100% legal axle loads allowed on the drive axles of approved Long Combination Vehicles (LCV) of 90’ or more with at least 2 trailers on the following roads (no overloads), unless otherwise indicated:

Seward Highway – MP 0 -75 (Seward to Ingram Creek) Sterling Highway Bridge Access Road (Kenai) Kalifornsky Beach Road Kenai Spur Highway Swanson River Road Glenn Hwy – MP 54 to 118 Parks Hwy – MP 88 to 163

Additional restrictions and modifications will be imposed as necessary.

Seasonal weight restrictions apply to all vehicles over 10,000# GVW. Weight restrictions are now in effect within the Northern Region at the locations specified below. These weight restrictions are stated as a percentage of legal allowable weight and shall be applied to the maximum axle loading in accordance with 17 AAC 25.013(e).

ADOT&PF Northern Region boundaries extend from Mile 163 Parks Highway north and from Mile 118 Glenn Highway north-east, and from Valdez on the north to Fairbanks. Road systems within Cordova and Nome are also within the Northern Region.

Until further notice, no seasonal vehicle weight restrictions will apply to the Elliott Highway: MP 0 to 72, or to the Dalton Highway: MP 0 to 414.

Effective Monday May 11th, 2020 at 8:00 AM:

The following roads will be restricted to 100% of legal axle load, and with 100% legal axle loads allowed on the drive axles of approved Long Combination Vehicles (LCV) of 90’ or more with at least two trailers (no overloads):

Parks Highway MP 163 to 356 (Cantwell to Fairbanks)

All State Maintained Roads in the Northern Region unless otherwise restricted

The following roads will be restricted to 85% of legal axle load, and with 100% legal axle loads allowed on the drive axles of approved Long Combination Vehicles (LCV) of 90’ or more with at least two trailers (no overloads):

Richardson Highway; MP 18 to 330 (North of Valdez to Johnson Road) Glenn Highway; MP 118 to MP 189 (NR boundary to Glennallen) MP 1222 to 1421 (Canadian Border to Delta) Tok Cutoff MP 0 to 124 (Gakona to Tok)
