The Coastal Cup is a “Ryder Cup Style” team match play competition that was dreamed up over the years between the disc golf clubs in Charleston and Myrtle Beach. After many brainstorms and collective discussions, we are finally making it happen! - Teams: Each team will consist of 20 Players, 18 starting players and 2 alternates, with a MINIMUM of 2 rostered ladies. Rosters will be determined however the Club and their Captains deem fit. Alternates would be suggested to have on standby in case someone is injured or cannot play Rounds 1 and 2 of matches, or for additional player options. - Format: Event day will consist of TWO Rounds of Match play competition in which each Hole played is worth a point. This will ensure that all matches and all holes played are played for something. A won hole is 1 full point for the team, a tied hole is a ½ point for each team, a lost hole is no point. - Entry Fee: Cost will be $25 per player. Player will receive a custom team shirt for playing. The rest of the entry fee will go towards Trophies and Prizes. - Round One: First round will be head to head Singles Match Play. Team Captains will determine their teams roster ranks from 1-18. Once determined players will play Head to Head matches against their numbered counterpart on the other team. o Example: First Group out will be MYRTLE #18 vs. CHUCK #18 and MYRTLE #17 vs. CHUCK #17 to make up a 4-player card. So, on and so forth until 9 groups of 4 are on the course. - Round Two: Second round will be Best Disc Doubles Match Play. Best Disc Doubles Teams will be determined by the rostered positions. MYRTLE #1 and MYRTLE #2 will play CHUCK #1 and CHUCK #2. - After all matches are played the Team with the MOST POINTS will be named the 2019 Coastal Cup winners! - The 2019 Edition is being hosted by a “neutral site” Sewee Outpost chosen by the Clubs. The WINNER of the 2019 Coastal Cup will get to choose the site of the 2020 event. Host team will alternate from year to year, back and forth from then on. .
