2. TRANSPORT FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL There are a number of transport options that travelers can use from the Vienna Airport to their Hotels or to the Vienna International Centre (VIC)/UNIDO.

A. BUS CONNECTIONS Schedule: The Vienna Airport Lines operate every hour 7 days a week from 06:10 to 19:10 to the Airport and from 07:10 to 20:10 from the Airport. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes. There are buses with different destination points within the city. The fare is € 8,- The airport bus stop is located in the Bus Terminal Platform 9. The airport bus line that comes to the VIC is the one with destination Wien Kagran. The bus stop for the VIC/UNIDO and few hotels nearby is Kaisermuhlen VIC and it is located on Wagramer Strasse in front of VIC Gate 1.

B. DRIVER SERVICE (door to door) For a price varying between about € 25 and € 45, a taxi will pick you up from hotel or drive you from the airport to your hotel. These taxis need to be reserved in advance (preferably a few days in advance to ensure that they are not booked out). C. TRAIN There are two options: 1) The S-Bahn from the airport to the city centre (Wien Mitte). The train (Express train S7) leaves every 30 minutes (see timetable below) and stops at the centrally located train stations of Wien Mitte and Wien Praterstern, with transfers to Vienna’s subway network. The trip to Wien Mitte lasts approx. 25 minutes, and to Praterstern about 30 minutes. The ticket price is €4.20. 2) The City Airport Train (CAT), linking the airport with the city center. The trip lasts about 16 minutes (passenger fare is €12 for a single ticket and €21 for a return ticket). The CAT train leaves the airport every 30 minutes daily from 6.09 am to 11.39 pm (see timetable below). When arriving at the City Air Terminal, change to the underground line U4 and then U1 (see info listed under “public transportation”) to get to the VIC. 3. HOW TO REACH THE VIENNA INTERNATIONAL CENTRE (VIC) The VIC accommodates the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) the United Nation Office at Vienna (UNOV), the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear- Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO PrepCom), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and other smaller United Nations entities. The VIC is comprised of several buildings, labelled A to G. Buildings A and B house the IAEA. Building C is the main conference building. Buildings D and E house UNOV, UNIDO, CTBTO and other UN entities. Buildings F and G house various support services such as the computer centre, the print shop, the medical centre, the library, etc. The meeting rooms that will be used for the meeting and work are located in Building C. A. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The VIC can be reached with the underground (U-Bahn) by taking the red line (U1), towards Leopoldau if you are in or around the city centre, and getting off at the station Kaisermühlen-Vienna International Centre. Single, 24 hour, 72 hour and weekly tickets can be purchased from vending machines in all subway stations or at tobacco shops marked Tabak Trafik, and also at the VIC newspaper stand located in the Rotunda (Building C, ground floor). The weekly ticket is valid Monday through Sunday with unlimited use of all Viennese public transport facilities (U-bahn, bus, tramway, Schnellbahn). Single tickets may also be purchased from the vending machines located in subway stations, trams and busses and are valid for one single trip in one direction. B. BY TAXI

As all meeting participants will have to go through the VIC registration formalities, colleagues should ask the taxi driver to drop them at the pedestrian Gate 1, which is just behind the airport bus stop in Wagramer strasse on the side of the VIC. From within the building, taxis may be called from the telephone next to the entrance to the Rotunda. The customary tip for taxi drivers is 10 per cent of the fare. There is an extra charge for luggage, which is not shown on the meter.
