3RD BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

The 3rd Board of Directors Meeting for FY 2016-2017 of UAP-Cavite Chapter was held at Servida Residence and SDC Office in Dasmarinas City last September 12, 2016. Eight (8) members of UAP-Cavite Board of Directors attended the meeting. The BOD Meeting’s main focus is the CSR project in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation and Failon Ngayon, the Nagcarlan Senior Citizen Center which is to be turnover and inaugurated on September 19, 2016. Other agenda includes Joint UAPSA District B3 Induction, Nominees for the College of Fellows, 2016 Joint Area Assembly, UAP Regional District B3 Joint GMM and Plant Tour among others. The September and October of the Arkitektong Kabitenyo are said to be full-packed because of the various activities being lined-up and spearheaded by the Board of Directors for the joy and benefit of the general membership. 3RD GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The 3rd General Membership Meeting for FY 2016-2017 of UAP-Cavite Chapter was held at the Bahay ng Arkitektong Kabitenyo in Imus City last September 17, 2016 with an overwhelming attendance of 88 Cavite Architects. The award-winning lecture series for this fiscal year had its 2nd wave with Arch. Rino Domingo Fernandez, fuap as guest speaker, with the topic, ‘Writing in Architecture: The Architect as a Book Author’. Also happened was the 3rd A.K.S.E.P. (Arkitektong Kabitenyo Sharing Experiences in the Profession) with one of the active chapter member, Arch./EnP. Aimee Richelle Gandia, uap, piep as its speaker. Meanwhile, some brochures were distributed by the two GMM sponsors, Boysen Paints and Mega Pacific. The meeting ended at 09:30 p.m. and again followed by the ‘Kapihan’ (fellowship) along with the distribution of IAPOA certificates, Arkitektong Kabitenyo uniform (polo shirts) and selling of chapter pins. #OtsoOtso #IAPOASeason #BookWriting101

NAGCARLAN SENIOR CITIZENS’ CENTER

Another feather on cap and a successful partnership as UAP-Cavite collaborates again with Mr. Ted Failon, ABS-CBN, and the program Failon Ngayon, this time, to bring smiles to the Senior Citizens of Nagcarlan, Laguna. After UAP-Cavite joined and helped in various CSR programs through the years, it was a very good and timely project for it commends the invaluable contributions of the Senior Citizenry to the society as well as serving inspirations that learning and success is ageless. It was another huge success not just because of being accomplished on time but the mere fact that it brings hopes, big dreams and inspirations to the beneficiaries. The project came into reality and perfection with the kindest help and collective efforts between the Municipal Government, generous sponsors, and other various benefactors. The construction commenced in June 16, 2016 and was officially turned over and blessed last September 19, 2016. Truly, the essence of ‘Our duty is not only to ourselves, but to God and our country’ has been met and will forever be met as long as there is an Arkitektong Kabitenyo on the go for service and social responsibility.

TURN-OVER OF NAGCARLAN SENIOR CITIZEN’S CENTER

After 3 months of conceptualization, planning and construction, the Senior Citizen’s Center was finally torned over to the local government of Nagcarlan held last September 19, 2016. Under the program of Dept. of Education for the elderly ALS (Alternative Learning System) in partnership with ABS-CBN Failon Ngayon, UAP Cavite Chapter, generous sponsors and suppliers, the CSR Project was implemented providing a high quality learning center with modern technology used as wall and roofing system of the structure with proper insulation. Artistic painting works for interior and exterior done by the volunteer student of Cavite State University Architecture Dept. The senior citizen’s of Nagcarlan Laguna were very grateful for being the beneficiary of this project, despite of their age they were given a chance to be a productive citizen.

ARKITEKTONG KABITENYO PLANT TOUR 2016

As part of the observation and celebration of World Architecture Day on October 3, 2016 with the theme, ‘Design a Better World’, the Arkitektong Kabitenyo held a pre-WAD activity last September 23, 2016 at the City of Dasmarinas. Dubbed as the Arkitektong Kabitenyo Plant Tour 2016, Cavite Architects headed their way to First Cavite Industrial Estate (FCIE) to visit two well-known manufacturing companies, Hocheng Philippines Corp. (HCG), a global brand in the field of bathroom fixtures production and Boysen Paints by United Paints Inc. (UPI), also a global brand but in the field of paint industry instead. During the morning tour, the Cavite Architects was warmly welcome by no other than, the HCG President himself, Mr. Sam Chen together with his spirited and diverse team led by Arch. Jaime Tan See and Mr. Rey Remogat, while on the other hand, Boysen Paints’ Mr. Dexter Angeles and a group of Safety Engineers welcomes the Arkitektong Kabitenyo for their afternoon tour on their solvent-based white paints production plant. #ICanLiveHere #TheNumberOnePaint #NamasyalNamanghaNatuto

ST WAD – 1 ACTIVITY HCG PLANT TOUR

In celebration of WAD (World Architecture Day), UAP Cavite Chapter first activity “PLANT TOUR at HCG Plant located in FCIE Brgy. Langkaan, Dasmarinas Cavite last September 24, 2016.This plant visit benefited the members of Cavite Chapter especially the new members to build a better understanding of a site performance, potential and to allow us as an Architect to review supplier’s qualifications of their product. Such tour allows the member to amass knowledge about their supplier quickly and to build a store of experience that will be useful on their future projects.

3RD ARKITEKTONG KABITENYO SPORTS FELLOWSHIP

The 3rd Sports Fellowship for FY 2016-2017 of UAP-Cavite Chapter was held at the Conrado Venidas Hall, The Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas City last September 25, 2016. In preparation for the incoming Steeltech Playball, an annual invitational sports competition, the Arkitektong Kabitenyo sweat their hearts out and played an all-out final practice and tune-up game before the much-anticipated Playball 2016 kicks-off on the first day of October. Proven to be a strong contender for the much-coveted championship and a perennial dark horse among the rest of the participating UAP Chapters, the Cavite Architects’ determination, enthusiasm and skills will be tested to their ‘well-loved’ and ‘heavily-favored’ sports of expertise; Badminton, Basketball, Billiards, Bowling and Table Tennis. The basketball tune-up game shows some action between the Basketbolerong Kabitenyo versus the Cavite Provincial Capitol Team. Meanwhile, other sports are also held simultaneously to ensure that all sporting events are given equal training and attention. UAP Cavite Chapter second sports fellowship activity, in celebration of WAD (World Architecture Day), which held in Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas Cavite last September 25, 2016. A tune-up for the incoming Steeltech Invitational Cup. Badminton, table tennis, basketball, bowling were simultaneously held. A simple way to promote fellowship and harmony as a team. A strong team, respects each other, trust each other, understand each other and enjoy each other. That’s the goal of a winning team and that’s the goal of Arkitektong Kabitenyo.

ARKITEKTONG KABITENYO on UAPSA B3 JOINT INDUCTION OF OFFICERS & SEMINARS

The Arkitektong Kabitenyo joins the bandwagon of architecture students of Cavite as they held their joint induction of officers and seminars. With the theme, ‘KKK: Ka-UAPSA, Ka-B3, Kabitenyo – Arkitektura ng Lahing Kabitenyo, architecture students from the five architectural schools in the province flocked altogether at the jam-packed auditorium of Lyceum in General Trias City last September 26, 2016. Spearheaded by UAPSA Area B Vice President, Alyssa Nicole Paez, UAPSA B3 District Director, Regine Labado, UAPSA B3 Chapter Presidents and Arch. James Art Pimentel (UAPSA & UAPGA Chairman), the event was a huge success, not only for having an overwhelming response from the attendees but for the memories, learning and unity that they have created. Arch. Charles Servida, serves as the guest speaker and Architects Ed Samson and Aimee Gandia serve as seminar speakers.
