St. Peter’s Mass Intentions

Dear Parish Family, Monday February 10 • St Scholastica

As a Diocese, we have completed the 33 Days to 7:45 a.m. Nazzareno Gentile by David & Annette Yash Morning Glory Marian Consecration. I would like to congratulate those who have completed the Tuesday February 11 • Weekday consecration. If you began at a later time, I encourage you to continue working through this retreat. It took 7:45 a.m. Josephine Tulimieri by Richard & Sharon Low me three times before I was able to complete it. The first time I was too busy to spend the time doing the Wednesday February 12 • Weekday readings. So, if that happened to you, I’ve been there, done that. Don’t get discouraged, hang in there. Start 7:45 a.m. Vincent Torcasio again when you can. The second time I failed was by Lauren & John Frosolone and family

because I struggled with the idea of giving everything Thursday February 13 • Weekday to Mary, “our interior and spiritual goods, … and our good works, past, present, and future.” I got caught up 7:45 a.m. Communion Service in struggling with that for several days and fell behind in the readings and abandoned the effort. But God does Friday February 14 • Sts. Cyril & Methodius

not give up! 7:45 a.m. Loretto & Alice O’Donnell by Dr. & Mrs. James P. Moore So when I tried for the third time I focused on Fr. Gaitley’s statement in day 5, “Mary is never outdone in 9:00 a.m. Raymond & Frances Nassoiy by daughters generosity… Mary is not outdone generosity.” There is a truth hidden from the world. A truth I have Saturday February 15 • Vigil, The 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time experienced but not yet learned. The more you give yourself away, the more blessings are poured down 7:45 a.m. Sr. Ann McDermott (living) upon you. Throughout my journey into priesthood and by Jim & Maureen Ingham and family during my priesthood, I have experienced this miracle. I may not have received what I was expecting or even 4:00 p.m. Richard DiPasquale by his sister, Mary Price what I wanted, but the blessings God has poured upon me have been truly amazing. I would not trade any of Sunday February 16 • The 6th Sunday in them for all the riches this world could offer. Ordinary Time

Thus it is possible for me to say that I give all of my 8:30 a.m. Joan Paradise by John & Lauren Frosolone

merits and good works, past, present, and future to 10:30 a.m. Josephine Gaspari (Birthday Remembrance) Mary so that she can distribute them as she pleases for by Children the greater glory of God. As she placed her trust in God’s plan at the Annunciation, the Cross, and her St. Bernard’s Mass Intentions entire life, I place my trust in God. Experience teaches me that God will provide. Saturday February 15 • Vigil, The 6th Sunday O’ Lord teach me again that I might once more learn in Ordinary Time

from Your merciful love. 4:30 p.m. Victoria Grabka by David & Lynn DiPaolo

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us. Sunday February 16 • The 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time AMDG, 9:00 a.m. Hope Hastings by Estate

Message from our Principal

The talent of our Saint Peter’s students reaches all ends of the spectrum and we are proud of each student and their accomplishments. As a part of Catholic Schools Week, we held our annual TALENT SHOW and NIGHT OF THE ARTS. Students in grades 3-8 danced, sang, cheered, showed their drawing talent, played a musical instrument, tumbled on mats, and in a variety of ways showed skills that they have practiced and that they love to do. What impressed the audience most, however, was the confidence and commitment on the part of these children to perform in front of a group at such a young age. Such special CHILDREN OF GOD!

Also on display were the artistic talents of our students in art class. Mrs. Morello, our Art teacher, created a gallery of artwork, SPS style. More special CHILDREN OF GOD!

STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) is the theme for our second session of after school academies that began last week at SPS. There is something for everyone, as we work to expand the knowledge and experiences of our students in these critical areas, and prepare our students for their future. Over 65 students are involved in these academies:

Little Bits: Mix it Up Grades K-2 Martial Arts Grades 1-2 Play Props Grades 3-5 Kitchen Chemistry Grades 3-5 CSI Grades 5-8 Tech Wars: Bridge Building Grades 6-8 Easter Crafts Grades 6-8

School does not end at 3:15 each day at SPS. In addition to these STREAM academies, our students are still going strong with basketball, cheerleading, recycling, chorus, band, drama and St. Vincent DePaul. SPS is the place to be, to learn, to play, to experiment, to perform and to grow ...all while wrapped in the loving arms of the Lord! -Maureen Ingham, Principal
