Catechists 2020 - 2021 Recruitment

How Jesus Taught:

Step 1 He took the people where they were and made the lesson meaningful to their lives in some way. He spoke to shepherds about sheep, farmers about planting, fishermen about fish, etc., etc. Step 2 He brought in the fact – Scripture, “It is written…” Step 3 He asked them to do something with what they learned – to actively respond – doing and practicing are vitally connected with knowing. Step 4 He asked them to go and tell others. “Go ye therefor and teach all nations…”

You as a Catechist can teach as Jesus did:

Step 1 You are a parent and you teach your children. Step 2 CCE Ministries will supply you with what you need to teach Catechism. Step 3 You are a practicing Catholic, therefor by practicing your faith, you can connect with the students. Step 4 Use the gift that the Holy Spirit has given us all – Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

St. Justin Martyr Parish is reaching out to you We need Catechists for Grades 1st – 12th

Will you hear the calling to teach? Will you share your time, talent and treasure? Please contact Jackie Baca – [email protected] or Perla Galvan – [email protected].

The Great Commandment:

4 Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone! 5 Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with your whole heart, and with your whole being, and with your whole strength. 6 Take to heart these words which I command you today. 7 Keep repeating them to your children. Recite them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Bind them on your arm as a sign and let them be as a pendant on your forehead. 9

Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
