Dolby theatre guided tour review Continue The statement regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) of 9.9.2020 Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be of extreme public concern. Based on the latest news and at the direction of the Governor, we have made the difficult decision to suspend our daily tours. Our Broadway Hollywood series has also been rescheduled for dates yet to be determined. For more information about these exhibitions, please call our box office at (323) 308-6389. Please note that Box Office is currently closed, but we will respond to all voicemails. Please leave a message with your name, phone number and the headline of the show. If you are a Pantages season subscriber, please contact their Box Office directly at (866) 755-2929. We appreciate your understanding at this difficult time and will let everyone know as more information becomes available. The Dolby Theatre, located in Hollywood, California, is the permanent home of the Oscars and various other events. Tours of the Dolby Theatre are held several times a day and last about 30 minutes each. In this post, we review our recent experience on Dolby Theatre excursions. Theoretically, a tour of the Dolby Theatre can be quite cool. While not having nearly as much history as other venues near it in Hollywood as Grauman's Chinese Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, and Cinerama dome, there is great potential interest here. First, there is his transition from the Kodak Theatre to the Dolby Theatre. There is architecture as well. The interior design of the Dolby Theatre is impressive; As it was designed to be the permanent home of the Oscars, it was generously designed, with inspiration from European opera houses. The theatre lobby has a grand spiral staircase and other features that are visually stunning. It is also home to one of the most technically advanced imaging and sound systems in the world for the ultimate sensory experience. Unfortunately, the potential interest of the Dolby Theatre is unrealized, as the tour is ridiculously bad - a complete waste of time and money ... I was actually a little surprised by that. If you're reading TripAdvisor, the reviews are usually pretty positive (at the time of this post, it has 4/5 points there, and takes #4 of 115 concerts and shows in Los Angeles). Honestly, in re-reading those before posting this, I can't disagree with what most individual reviews say. Nevertheless, we draw completely different conclusions. If you're only concerned about stepping inside the venue where the Oscars are held, seeing an Oscar statue in person, and perhaps a few behind-the-scenes numbers, then perhaps this tour is for you. That's literally all there is. (If you want to see the Oscars in person, the better the variations of Warner Bros. or Sony Studio tours, both of which allow you to actually hold one.) Our tour lasted minutes and priced at $23, was over $1 per minute. Of course we didn't pay out of pocket for the tour as we used the Go Los Angeles Card, but we paid in terms of time, parking and cost and I felt robbed even without a direct payment of $23. When our tour ended, another guest on the tour said: That's it?! to our guide who seemed both a legitimate question and an expression of disgust given the cost of the experience. Given the conversations in the lobby after that, I think it was a general consensus. My opinion on the tour did not help our guide who was clearly unselfish and betrayed the atmosphere that the escorting bunch of tourists around the venue was underneath it. Had he shared some interesting anecdotes or even remotely engaging, it could have been a much better experience. However, he is not-instead keen to go for speed and complete the tour as quickly as possible. It also didn't help that photography wasn't allowed anywhere in the place except for the main theater and the Oscar statue. I learned this the hard way when I snapped above a photo of a rather bland waiting room, and yelled at it. Even in places like the lobby, photography was not allowed. This seems strange given that we were at the Dolby Theatre for events before that open to the whole public and there was no such restriction. Now, you may be inclined to write off my impression as an outlier because of a bad guide. This is a fair moment. Even with the perfect guide, however, the substance would not be incredibly compelling in my opinion. You may also recall my guide to visiting Hollywood, California, which is quite harsh. While I still hold some of these sentiments towards Hollywood, with a lot of time spent in Hollywood, it has grown on me a bit (particularly less touristy areas). If you are obsessed with the Academy Awards and want to look inside this place, my advice will be to find another way inside if there are suggestions during your trip to Los Angeles. Many events at the Dolby Theatre give away tickets and those that are not often moderately priced. If you're just a movie buff at all, consider one of Hollywood's historic theaters (I'm partial to Cinerama Dome) not. Based on my experience here, I can't recommend a Dolby Theatre tour to anyone, not even those with it included in their Go Los Angeles Card for free. There are much better uses of your time. If so, what do you think of Do you think it was worth the time and/or money? Would you recommend it to others? If you haven't done the Dolby Theatre Tour, is that what interests you? Please share your thoughts and questions in the comments below! Went to see Paleyfest at the Dolby Theatre! Great places, even though we were in Parter On the Left, we could still see faces in public on stage. The whole theatre itself felt glamorous and the sound was excellent - I mean, it's the Dolby Theatre. ;) We weren't on tour and didn't have time to look around, so I don't know how much you can really see the Dolby Theatre if you had leisure time while there to watch the show and not do a tour. But I think it's better to experience the show there anyway than just look at it. The area surrounding it felt safe at night, if anything, it's right next to Hollywood and Highland Mall, so there's always a lot of people and if you're hungry, restaurants and clubs are open late. Dolby Theatre is also known as the Kodak Theatre. What can I tell you about a theater where the talents of movie stars are rewarded with the much-coveted little Oscar statue? At the entrance is a long list with award-winning movies at the moment. Then we go up the big stairs to the big hall of the theater. There are many small shops, and from the terrace you can see the emblem HOLLYWOOD on the hill of Los Angeles. This is the best attrection to see if you are in Los Angeles, located in the best area full of tourists all the time. A special evening is best to visit this place. So many shops, Hard Rock Cafes, 5 doll shops, so much fashion on the street. Love this place.
