Idaho Air Passenger Demand Study Introduction Introduction to the Report Commercial airline service is very important to Idaho’s economy. Not only do businesses located in the State rely on the commercial airline industry to support day-to-day activities, but Idaho’s tourist industry is heavily reliant on commercial airline service. There is no national standard for what constitutes good or even acceptable airline service; such standards vary considerably by community. However, convenient access to the national air transportation system is a top priority for many businesses and tourists across the U.S. It is important that Idaho’s major population, business, and tourism centers have commercial airline service to meet their needs. All areas in Idaho have some inherent need or demand for commercial airline service. The volume of this demand is determined by factors such as population, employment, income, and tourism. Where each community’s demand for commercial airline service is actually served is a more complex equation. In the deregulated airline environment, it is not uncommon to find travelers who leave the market area of their local commercial service airport to drive two to three hours to a more distant, larger competing airport. The airport that travelers choose for their commercial airline trips is influenced by a myriad of factors. With the help of the Internet, which is rapidly becoming the number one method for airline ticket purchases, travelers can compare fares, airlines, and schedules among several competing airports. With airline deregulation, some travelers from smaller commercial airport markets around the U.S. have abandoned air travel from their local airport in favor of beginning their trips from larger, more distant airports. -

General Information on Airline Service Development at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) IDA currently has 3 scheduled airlines (United, Delta and Allegiant) with Direct flights to Salt Lake City, Utah; Denver, Colorado; Las Vegas, Nevada; Phoenix/Mesa Arizona and seasonal summer service to Minneapolis-St. Paul, Oakland and Los Angeles California. In addition, Air Charter companies on the field offer direct flights to Boise and other destinations on demand. The airport is a landlord for the airlines and has very little say in where airlines fly, the ticket prices they charge or the level of customer service they may or may not provide. We do stay in close contact with all the airlines, attend their conferences and meet with their headquarter offices to offer suggestions and insight into our market and to market our airport and community in effort to attract new routes. We also partner with a very competent and successful air service development consultant to assist us in this effort. However, in the end Airlines make their decisions based on profitability and they are ultimately in control. Air service is directly tied to the economy and how many people are flying. Air service is also driven by the amount of utilization of existing flights and individual airline business models. All these factors combine to reflect a continuous volatile airline industry. After safety and security, Air Service Development is a high priority for the Airport. We strive to be responsive to the community travel needs in both business and leisure routes. Our mission is to first maintain our existing airlines and routes (in the recent economy, many regional airports have lost air service). -

SUMMARY At its February 1, 2021 meeting, the City Council held a Public Hearing on a code amendment related to public noticing of land use actions (see Exhibit 1). That code amendment would have, if passed, expanded the required mailing radius for noticing surrounding property owners of land use actions (from 300 feet to 600 feet). The City Council action was not to pass the code amendment. However, in doing so, the City Council expressed an interest in using the Council committee process to evaluate alternative improvements to public noticing. -

Fact Sheet for NPDES Permit WA0991001 Boeing Everett Cleanup Site May 11, 2015 Purpose of this fact sheet This fact sheet explains and documents the decisions the Department of Ecology (Ecology) made in drafting the proposed National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for Boeing Everett, WA. This fact sheet complies with Section 173-220-060 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC), which requires Ecology to prepare a draft permit and accompanying fact sheet for public evaluation before issuing an NPDES permit. Ecology makes the draft permit and fact sheet available for public review and comment at least thirty (30) days before issuing the final permit. Copies of the fact sheet and draft permit for Boeing Everett (Boeing), NPDES permit WA0991001, are available for public review and comment from March 10 to April 10, 2015. For more details on preparing and filing comments about these documents, please see Appendix A – Public Involvement Information. Boeing has reviewed the draft permit and fact sheet for factual accuracy. Ecology corrected any errors or omissions regarding the facility’s location, history, discharges, or receiving water prior to publishing this draft fact sheet for public notice. After the public comment period closes, Ecology will summarize substantive comments and provide responses to them. No public comments were received during the public comment period for this permit. Summary Boeing is conducting a remedial cleanup of trichloroethylene (TCE) in groundwater to achieve hydraulic control of TCE in the plume, and to reduce to maximum extent practicable discharge to Powder Mill Creek. The remediation consists of extracting and treating contaminated groundwater through an air stripper treatment system. -
