De band wordt gecompleteerd met Mark Stoermer op bas en drummer Ronnie Vannucci. Na veel schrijven en oefenen in een bloedhete garage, komen de eerste optredens. De naam van de band circuleert snel door de stad en komt uiteindelijk terecht bij een Londense platenmaatschappij. Deze nodigt ze uit voor een serie optredens in Engeland. Hier nemen ze, in een gelimiteerde oplage, hun eerste single 'Mr. Een tweede tournee door Groot-Brittannië volgt begin Ondertussen blijft de band druk bezig met het produceren van het eerste album. Tijdens hun Europese tournee treden ze op in de Amsterdamse poptempel Paradiso en in Rotterdam tijdens het Metropolis Festival. In juli komt het album Hot Fuss uit en het nummer 'Somebody Told Me' wordt het eerste succesnummer van de band. De verdere doorbraak in Nederland blijft uit, terwijl de band in de VS en Engeland wel een absolute hit is. In speelt de band op Live 8. The Killers brengen in hun tweede album Sam's Town uit. During 2013, we further grew our unmatched concerts global fan base by 10 million fans, attracting almost 60 million fans to our concerts. This tremendous growth fueled our sponsorship and ticketing businesses with Ticketmaster managing nearly 4400 million total tickets in 2013. Combined, we delivered a record year for revenue, AOI and free cash flow. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of our business model, establishing Live Nation as what we believe to be the number one player in each of our businesses, with concerts driving our flywheel, which is then monetized across our high margin on-site, sponsorship and ticketing businesses. Strong Fan Demand for Live Events We continue to see the tremendous power of live events, with strong global consumer demand. Research shows that live events are a high priority for discretionary spending, and over 80% of our fans surveyed indicate that they plan on attending the same or more events in 2014 as in 2013. Another sign of the strength of our business is that 85% of Live Nation’s fan growth came organically, from our promoting more shows in amphitheaters, arenas and stadiums; from launching new festivals; and from establishing operatioons in new markets.

Hieronder mijn hoogtepunten van Haarlem en omstreken: Activiteiten - Mooi weer: wijnproeverij met Chateau78 door de grachten van Haarlem, zonnen bij strandtent Woodstock, concert in openluchttheater Caprera of een biertje bij het kampvuur bij stadsstrand de Oerkap. - Slecht weer: Bikram yoga, naar cultfilm in de Toneelschuur en winkelen in Haarlem en Amsterdam. Winkel-Tip! Snuffel eens rond bij de Kleine Houtstraat en de Schachelstraat in Haarlem. Onder andere aparte boetiekjes, conceptstores, antiek-, woon- en kledingwinkels (surf en vintage) als Number Nine, Revert & ID. Voor 2ehands meubeltjes Stijlloods, Rataplan Haarlem en Vintagestore Hoofddorp.
