Authorized Authorized Channel Partner For Authorized Channel Partner For: What is FasTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). It employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to it or directly toll owner. It is affixed on the windscreen of the vehicle and enables to drive through toll plazas without stopping for transactions. FASTag is also vehicle specific and once it is affixed to a vehicle, it cannot be transferred to another vehicle. FASTag can be purchased from any of the NETC Member Banks. If a FASTag is linked to the prepaid account, then it needs to be recharged/ topped-up as per the usage of the customer. If adequate balance is not maintained by the customer, the FASTag gets blacklisted at the toll plaza. In such a scenario if the customer travels through a toll plaza without recharging then he won't be able to avail the NETC services and would be required to pay the toll fare through cash. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) have authorized National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for providing a composite solution on Toll Collection Program. indusind BANK issues prepaid RFID Tags to customers which can be recharged. Once Tags are affixed on vehicle, that vehicles can pass through ETC lanes at Toll Plazas without stopping and Toll Charges will automatically deduct from the linked account The Government of India has taken an initiative program to digitize the system with cashless transactions, skip long waiting and queues, avoid congestion at Toll Plazas, save time and fuel, thus resulting to less pollution and fuel consumption for the vehicles. As of September 2019, FasTag lanes are available on over 500 national and state highways, and over 5.6 million FasTag enabled vehicles.
