Tillinghast and opened for play on Sept. 8, 1923. Tillinghast, who also designed Winged Foot’s East Course, competed in two U.S. Opens and eight U.S. Amateurs between 1902 and 1912. Gill Hanse supervised a renovation of the West Course and that work was completed in 2017. He had previously renovated the East Course.
