Soledad Cyn Rd, Saugus CA 91350 • 661 - 254-0540 Developing your approach is like learning a new dance step. Call it, “ Ballet” www.santaclaritalanes.com if you like. The motions should be just that fluid and precise. Unfortunately for fans of that fine art, the description of those movements are more akin to a country music ballad. The lyrics go something like this: LEFTY-RIGHTY BOWLING BALL BALLET BALLAD Grab my partner, assume my stance; Face my target, it’s time to dance. If I’ve done my job, you’re ready for them. BOB JONES & ABAKUMOFF TIED WITH 842 IN DEAF TRAVEL AT COVINA LANES COVINA — Southern California Deaf Traveling League had two rarities last Sunday at Bruns- wick Covina Bowl. First was the league already had its position round last November 16 at Win- netka Bowl and the schedule and team standings for last Sunday happened to have teams matched like a position round again. The other was two anchor bowlers were matched against each other and both rolled same 842 series for the day’s high series honors.

Bob Jones rolled the day’s high game 257 with his 205-184-196 set for 842 and his opponent Ed Abakumoff tied Jones with 842 from games of 211-226-213-192 for top honors. Others on the honors list were Dan Flores with 211-191-162-203 for 767 and Jeff Stansell with (204) 705. Denise Burrows led the ladies with (189) 608.

There are no change in team standings as first place team Eagle Rock and 2nd place team Or- ange County ended with 10 – 10 points tie and ditto for 3rd place Hollywood and 4th place Mid City also ending in 10-10 tie. Although the bottom two teams had their anchor men tied with 2.5 points each 6th place Jones’ S F Valley beat 5th place Abakumoff’s Riverside 11.5-8.5.

S F Valley had the day’s high team game 633 with Jones’ 257, Burrows’ 189 and Gardy Rodgers’ 187, just 7 pins short of Orange County’s season high 640 team game. Valley also had the day’s high team series 2101.

This 54 years old all deaf bowlers traveling league thanks Brunswick Covina Bowl for hosting and will return for second round on May 3rd. The bowlers will take part in its Classic on Saturday January 10 at Keystone Lanes and resume its traveling schedule on Sunday January 18 also at Keystone Lanes.
