Honor Roll of Donors Dear Alumni, Parents and Friends ach year as we prepare this report that honors our generous donors to Saint Anselm College, I am reminded E how truly grateful I am for each person on this list. The 2010-2011 Honor Roll of Donors is more than just a listing of names. It is an expression of the regard each of the 5,704 individuals included in this publication has for Saint Anselm College. It is encouraging evidence that, even during challenging economic times, good people still find ways to support what they feel is important in their lives. As we reflect on another year in the life of our beloved Saint Anselm College, we also are mindful of our responsibilities to ensure that future generations will have the opportunity to experience the distinctive Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts education that we offer here. We are reminded of the great work of our founders who had the vision so many years ago to create a great institute for learning on the Hilltop. Our college has grown and advanced so much since those early days, certainly beyond what the founders could have imagined. But what has not changed is the value placed on Catholic education, on learning to respect human life, on how to show gratitude for the blessings in our lives. As we prepare for the future of Saint Anselm College through the implementation of our new strategic plan “Looking Within— Reaching Beyond, Vision 2015,” that includes revising our curriculum and adding new majors to meet the needs of our students as well as improving our facilities and campus life, we look to all of you to help ensure that we fulfill our mission of educating future generations. On behalf of the entire Saint Anselm College community—I express my deepest gratitude for all your gifts to this institution. Be assured of my continued prayers for you and your loved ones. Kelly ’66 2 Dear Alumni, Parents andHonor Friends Roll of Donors s I look at the list of 5,704 names on the following pages, I am truly amazed by the outpouring of support. We all know Saint Anselm College A is a special place—a place that many of us hold dear to your hearts. I have had the privilege of being part of the Saint Anselm College community for 13 years. Each day as I come to campus, I feel honored that I have the chance to work for an institution that focuses on providing quality education, strong moral values, and service to others in the Catholic Benedictine tradition. Yet to see, in black and white, the names of each and every person who took time to give back to the college during the last year is just remarkable. Each gift to Saint Anselm College, no matter how big or small, is so important. Collectively, these gifts provide scholarship support to our most-deserving students; help provide important resources to our faculty and staff, improvements to our facilities and new programs for our students. As we implement our strategic plan, “Looking Within, Reaching Beyond—Vision 2015,” we need all of our alumni, parents and special friends to help secure the future of Saint Anselm College. Our goal over the next four years is to continue to increase our participation rate among our alumni, so that we have 27% participation rate. Reaching this goal will allow us to help financially secure Saint Anselm College’s place for years to come. As can be seen in the pages of this report, Fiscal Year 2011 was tremendously successful and we hope to build on this success over the coming year. We are all mindful of today’s uncertain economic conditions, but despite these challenging times, we raised more than $2.6 million for The Saint Anselm Fund, helping our outstanding students achieve an excellent Catholic, liberal arts education, rooted in the Benedictine tradition. I especially would like to recognize the leadership of our dedicated Board of Trustees, and in particular, Frank Piantidosi, who served as Chairman of the College Advancement Committee, whose tireless efforts helped grow The Saint Anselm Fund over the past several years. I am incredibly proud of our youngest alumni who have embraced philanthropy and shown love of their alma mater. This past year, 886 people became President’s Society members—the largest number in the 19 year history of this society. Of those 58 were at the Associate Level, representing our 10 most- recent graduating classes. With all the challenges facing our young alumni—job searches, graduate school, student loans, starting families—this show of support is truly outstanding. And a special thank you to Trustee and Alumnus, Richard Bready ’65, whose generous challenge helped secure new President Society members and Annual Scholarships. On behalf of the Saint Anselm College staff, I would like to again thank everyone who donated at any level for their generosity. Remember, every gift— every dollar—counts. I look forward to again reading your name in our Fiscal Year 2012 Honor Roll of Donors. Sincerely, James F.
