DGFEZ has established and executed a comprehensive strategic investment promotion plan for sustainable innovation and growth, and is expediting various additional projects. The Daegu- Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority has signed MOU with the city of Daegu and DG Entertainment in March, 2021. The main point of the agreement is to establish R&D Center for AI- based AR/VR-related education content within the knowledge-based industry land in the Suseong Medical District. The investment amount will be KRW 12.5 billion in total including the USD 1.2 million from foreign capital promised by Youxiland, a game developer in Taiwan. Through this, DG Entertainment and Youxiland are planning to establish a joint foreign corporation, and begin construction of a dedicated R&D center to develop contact-free education content software in the industry-based knowledge land in the Suseong Medical District within the year. If the construction is completed on schedule, it is projected that R&D can begin in 2022. The city of Daegu expects that it can create 140 new jobs and also be able to pioneer new markets utilizing the networking of the foreign company, which invests in R&D center, in the Greater China Region and the Anglosphere through this agreement. 36 37 Daegu Arboretum, a breathtaking green scenery Daegu Arboretum was the first landfill to be restored into an ecological plant space in the country and it was selected as an outstanding case of a natural ecology site by the Ministry of Environment. It even was selected as one of the top contact-free tourist attractions by the Korea Tourism Organization last year. As a public arboretum operated by the city of Daegu, it consists of specialized arboretums with 21 different themes such as a herb garden, a broadleaf tree garden, a needle leaf tree garden, a wildflower garden, a botanic garden, an incense plant garden, an oddly formed rock garden, a bamboo garden, etc. There are 1,750 types in total and 350,000 plants on display including 450 types of trees, and 1,300 types of herbal trees. Mungyeong Seonyugugok alley, a curvy valley featuring nine curves where the gods rambles This location became even more famous after the visit of singer IU and other celebrities in a TV program.
