Mr Justice STOCK is awarded the GBS in recognition of his dedicated and distinguished service in the Judiciary, particularly his significant contribution as the Judge in charge of the Constitutional and Administrative Law List in the High Court, and in handling criminal appeal cases in the Court of Appeal as well as his devotion in the development of legal education. Mr Justice STOCK retired as the Vice President of the Court of Appeal after serving over 36 years with the Government and the Judiciary. He is currently a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in the Judiciary.

Lord HOFFMANN is awarded the GBS in recognition of his dedicated and distinguished service in the Judiciary as a Non-Permanent Judge from Another Common Law Jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. He is regarded as one of the best judges in the history of Common Law and has written many of the leading judgments in the development of many areas of the law. Lord HOFFMANN is currently a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal and has served in the Judiciary for 16 years.

Miss AU is awarded the GBS in recognition of her loyal and distinguished service to the Government and the Hong Kong community. In particular, she has made exemplary contributions in the areas of planning and lands, economic development and financial services. Miss AU is currently the Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Financial Services) and has served in the Government for over 31 years.

During his tenure as the Chairman of Kowloon City District Council from 2004 to 2011, he made significant contributions to district administration and the sustainable development of Kowloon City District. As a successful entrepreneur, he has also devoted much effort to the development of the construction sector in Hong Kong.

Mr CHAK, an Air Crewman Officer III, is awarded the MBS in recognition of his act of gallantry of an extremely high order displayed in an off-shore search and rescue operation to save the crew of a disabled vessel “Trans Summer” during Typhoon Utor on 14 August 2013. Being the winchman of the second rescue helicopter, he was lowered to the loaded lift raft to pick up the survivors under severe weather conditions and a hostile operating environment. He had been fighting against the waves and wind for almost one hour and successfully saved 15 lives. He displayed tremendous courage, selflessness, commitment to duty and professionalism of the highest order.

Captain TANG, a Line Pilot, is awarded the MBB in recognition of his act of gallantry displayed in an off-shore search and rescue operation to save the crew of a disabled vessel “Trans Summer” during Typhoon Utor on 14 August 2013. As the aircraft commander of the first rescue helicopter, he showed his excellent courage and airmanship in flying in the proximity of nearby terrain and appalling weather. He successfully led the entire crew to complete the mission and saved four survivors from the waters. He displayed bravery, total commitment and determination during the very difficult and risky operation.
