K2 has now been established for over 15 years during which the business has grown despite some challenging economic times. We attribute this to our excellent people, comprehensive business plan and focus on excellence.

In 2014, we had the opportunity to significantly enhance our capabilities and we took it. We merged with Rider Hunt London – one of the oldest and most respected construction consultancies in the UK.

Ahead of the launch of new iCar (BMWs new electric car) in the CLIENT: UK, K2 were appointed to refit Chandlers BMW Brighton showroom. Chandlers BMW UK VALUE: A new iCar display area was installed complete with an electric £500k charging point. The main sales floor was completely upgraded and ROLE: refurbished to meet current BMW corporate standards.

Project Management, Works included all internal flooring, new feature staircase, new Cost Management, reception area, customer toilets and hospitality suite. The works were Construction Manager carefully phased to allow the dealership to keep trading and maintain business as usual.

The project is a new development on the site of an existing car CLIENT: dealership. The project requires the demolition of the existing facility, land Jardine Motors Group clearance and development of a new facility for Jardines Motor Group – a VALUE: Porsche dealership. £8m ROLE: The current development proposal is for a car sales, repair and storage Project Management, development. The development will consist of an 18 car showroom for Cost Management Porsche, the workshop will accommodate circa 14 workshop bays, 2 specialist work bays, and 2 MOT bays. In addition, there will be a car valet facility.

K2 have been retained to provide full Capital Project Management and Cost Management services.

This site provides challenges due to ground contamination and flood risks as well as being constrained by the adjacent developments and environmental issues. K2 have managed an extensive survey programme to inform both the planning application and design, including ecology, archaeology, arboriculture, geo technical and asbestos. JAGUAR

K2 have recently completed the Jardine Motor Groups’ flagship Jaguar CLIENT: Land Rover dealership located in Milton Keynes. The 45,000 sq ft dual Jardine Motors Group brand facility incorporates an eighteen car JLR ARCH concept showroom PROJECTS: with a twenty one bay workshop facility and roof deck car park. Milton Keynes, Wolverhampton, During the projects design development, K2 engaged a number of Tonbridge, client direct order suppliers to coordinate and vocalise the clients’ own Southend operational needs and aspirations. This early stage collaboration enables the delivery of an efficient and functional facility, purposely designed to ROLE: suit an automotive retailers own operational and business goals, whilst Project Management, maintaining economic value. Whilst working with Jardine Motors, K2 Cost Management procured and managed the client direct order packages, which included, specialist furniture, IT & security and workshop equipment.

K2 have since been commissioned to deliver two further projects in Wolverhampton and Tonbridge. The Wolverhampton JLR project is located across two parcels of land and incorporates an ARCH concept eighteen car showroom on one parcel and a twenty nine bay workshop on the other. The Tonbridge JLR scheme incorporates a further ARCH concept eighteen car showroom and twenty three bay workshop. Both schemes have their own unique challenges, from previous land use constraints to highways and boundary access limitations. However, given K2’s vast experience within the construction industry, combined with the skills honed within the automotive sector, any project challenge will be professionally planned and overcome. MERCEDES-BENZ, SOUTHEND

The Jardine Motor Group have commissioned K2 Consultancy to deliver CLIENT: a refurbishment of an existing Mercedes-Benz dealership. The project will Jardine Motors Group incorporate the latest Corporate Identity standards, whilst also improving VALUE: and meeting the businesses modern day needs. £2.1m ROLE: With the increased demands on aging assets, the key driver for the Project Management, project is to create a more efficient and functional facility which reflects both Cost Consultancy a maximisation of the existing showroom space as well as expanding the capacity of the businesses used car sales. With this in mind, K2’s main goal is to revitalise and add value to an existing dealership which is operating at capacity for our client whilst managing project expectations within a constrained budget. & AFTERSALES EXTENSION/NEW BUILD, COLCHESTER

This project has required delicate stakeholder management up to and CLIENT: throughout the project life cycle due to the complex interrelationship of the Jardine Motors Group Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche brands. VALUE: £2m The works see a new build extension to facilitate an eight bay workshop ROLE: and parts mezzanine for Ferrari and Maserati, as well as a remodel of the Project Management, Porsche unit repair, overnight delivery and parts department. Cost Consultancy K2 are providing full Project Management and Cost Consultancy roles and have pulled together the professional team, undertaken feasibility studies, over saw planning approval process, procurement of the main contractor, tender and adjudication of specialist automotive packages. FERRARI AND ESSEX & KENT

K2 worked with Jardine Motors Group to provide an upgrade to the CLIENT: corporate identity of their Ferrari and Bentley Facility. The upgrades works Jardine Motors Group consisted of re-tiling areas of an operational showroom, new glazed VALUE: partitions and co-ordination of the new Bentley CI furniture and displays £400k which alone were £175,000. ROLE: Project Management, K2 provided a Project Management and Cost Management function, Cost Management agreed deliverables and understanding of the corporate brand, tender and procurement of main contractor, managed the construction process while being carried out within an operational facility. PDI CENTRE, SHEERNESS

The project consisted of the re-development of existing facilities at the VWG PDI at the Port of Sheerness, Kent to improve and expand on pre-delivery inspection facilities, nearly 1000 spaces for car storage and associated infrastructure.

The existing building was stripped down to the existing concrete frame ready for recladding and fitting out to VW’s specification. Removal of the asbestos roof to the main building was safely carried out. Complete demolition of CLIENT: peripheral buildings including foundations allowing a piled new steel Peel Ports Ltd. framed extension totalling 3,000m² to be constructed extending the footprint VALUE: of the existing building; creating quality inspection workshop, spray booths £7m and vehicle imaging bay facilities. ROLE: New and existing building structures were re-clad including new roofs Project Management, to form the new space for fitting out. A fully serviced and fitted out building Construction Management provided a new car workshop, office and staff facilities including a full catering kitchen / canteen within the existing footprint. Refurbished external car parking area (1000 cars) including site wide lighting / CCTV and vehicle refuelling centre.

K2 provided the project and cost management function client facing role and construction management resource for the build programme. This included liaising and co-ordinating of the Tenant fit out during the main build works of the accelerated programme.

The tenant’s request for an accelerated programme following project start for handover late January 2014 placed demands on design and sequencing to achieve the revised handover date. LEI SHING HONG

The world’s largest Mercedes-Benz retailer is hoping Stockport could soon CLIENT: become home to a regional sales and distribution hub for the luxury brand. Lei Shing Hong VALUE: International retail automotive group, Lei Shing Hong (LSH), are Confidential submitting plans to Stockport Council to regenerate a derelict and ROLE: problematic site on Brighton Road, off Didsbury Road, into a flagship Project Management dealership with showroom, workshops and servicing facilities. The new building will be of high architectural quality reflecting the importance of this gateway site.

Lei Shing Hong operates more than 140 Mercedes-Benz dealerships in diversified markets such as , Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia and most recently in Germany and the UK. They currently operate nine dealerships in Birmingham and Manchester and have ambitious growth plans.

They have chosen the Brighton Road site for its great motorway connections and central location. The site has been unused for many years and has attracted problems with vandalism, fly tipping and squatters. Now it could be turned into an attractive, open site surrounded by professionally-landscaped gardens.

K2 are acting for LSH by providing acquisition support and project management services. K2’s early stage activities involve working closely with LSH acquisitions team to carry out detailed feasibility discussions and the development of design options.
