Proposed Marine Event - Saturday - Oct. 22nd, 2011 Vancouver Harbour - 2nd Unit Filming Revised Proposal 2.0 Revised Proposal October 5th, 2011 Prepared by: Michael Gazetas Location Manager 604-290-4582 cell [email protected] Table of Contents Synopsis 3 Description of proposed filming activities Location A - “Dock” 4 Location B - “Jet Ski Chase” 7 Appendices A - SP/FX “Pryotechnics” Description letter 11 B - Watercraft List & Photographs 12 Synopsis “Big Time Movie” is a feature length TV Movie starring Nickelo- deon’s hit pop band, Big Time Rush, on their first world tour in London, England. Filming in Vancouver and Victoria from Oct. 11th through to November 10th, 2011, this story is a fun youth orientated “mash-up” of the Beatles’ “Hard Day’s Night” meets “Austin Powers”. The opening scene is a dream sequence, reminding us of the kind of James Bond openings we are used to seeing, with one of the band members, Logan, dreaming he is a “super-spy”. His dream involves the action of a tuxedoed spy fighting “nin- jas” on a urban city dock and then escaping on a Jet Ski. The dream unfolds to the music of Big Time Rush interpreting the Beatles song “Help”. This proposal is intended to outline the 2nd Unit film work in and around Vancouver Harbour at the TYMAC DOCKS and near CATES PARK on Saturday, Oct. 22nd, 2011. Our producers are seeking permission to film scenes in two specific locations, one for the dock work and the other for a jet- ski chase including some special effect water explosions. The following proposal details the basic logistics and staging required to safely accomplish these scenes. 3 Description of proposed filming activities - Location A Date: Saturday, Oct. 22nd, 2011 - Daylight hours Location A: “Ninja Fight Scene” - Tymac Dock (foot of main street) Action: Logan fights two Ninja’s and then escapes on a Jet Ski. Each effect will require two 18” steel pyramid mortar s to be submerged 1ft below the surface of the water Hard ( coated Styrofoam will be used to neutral achieve buoyancy). Each m ortar pair will be secured to the ocean floor similar on a bouy line, to a crab trap, to allow for ease of reloading support from a zodiac. A 6oz black powder lifter will be placed in the mortar. The resulting effect upward will be an geyser of water. (Please view test video attached to this proposal). The steel mortars ensure that the concussive effects are directed away . from any marine life I have used this effect on Saving Private Ryan with no adverse effects. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
