Member’s Annual Report 2016/17 This is the report by the Councillor below regarding his key activities over the year ending 31 March 2017. It is provided for the information of all constituents and for no other purpose. The views expressed in this report are those of the Councillor and they do not necessarily reflect the views of the Isle of Anglesey County Council. Councillor: Kenneth Pritchard Hughes Group: Independent Ward: Talybolion I am a member of the Executive with responsibility for Education. 1 - Role & Responsibilities Between April 2016 and March 2017, I sat on the following main 1Attendance Figures committees / sub-committees: Council 9 (100%) The Executive 14 (100%) Planning and Orders Committee 12 (92%) Licensing Committee 1 (100%) Corporate Parenting Panel 4 (100%) The statistics provided are relevant only to the committees listed in this table. The statistics do not include attendance at other meetings related to the work of the Council. Attendance levels may vary due to the nature of work and responsibilities of members - as portfolio holder, committee chair or representing the Council on outside bodies, for example. I am a member of the Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust and attended 3 meetings (75%). I am also a member of the Trust’s Investments and Contracts Panel. I am a member of the Voluntary Sector Liaison Committee. I represent the Council on the following outside bodies: Horizon Nuclear Project Liaison Committee Wylfa Site Stakeholder Group Board of the Consortium of Local Authorities (CLAW) CYNNAL Management Committee Welsh Joint Education Committee Gwynedd and Anglesey Youth Justice Service Anglesey Agricultural Society 1 Attendance figures supplied by the Isle of Anglesey County Council 1 2 - Constituency Activity I am a member of the Cylch y Garn Community Council and have attended meetings, as an observer, of the 7 other Community Councils in the Talybolion ward, i.e. Llanddeusant, Llanfachraeth, Llanerch-y-medd, Tref Alaw, Llanfairynghornwy and Llanfechell. During 2016/17, I continued to serve as Chairman of the Governing Body of Bodedern Secondary School. I am also a member of the Governing Body of Ysgol Cylch y Garn and have attended meetings of the Governing Bodies of Llanfachraeth and Llanfaethlu schools as an observer. 3 - Initiatives and Special Activities During the year, I was afforded the opportunity to continue with the interest I have in youth work by attending from time to time, some of the youth clubs in the Talybolion ward. I was also a member of the fund raising committee for the 2017 National Eisteddfod for the Llanfaethlu, Llanfachraeth and Llanrhuddlad areas. 4 - Learning and Development I have attended the following learning and development initiatives during the past year (information supplied by the Isle of Anglesey County Council): Older People’s Commissioner Wales Guidance 11/05/2016 Member Briefing Sessions (20 out of 23 = 87%) April 2016 – March 2017 5 - Other Activities and Issues I have served on village hall management committees in Llanfaethlu, Llanfachraeth and Llanfairynghornwy. I also served on a committee which arranged a sports day in the Llanfairynghornwy area.
