I would like to highlight a few of the key events that occurred in 2017 with you: • We celebrated a milestone anniversary, marking 60 years of caring for our community. • Launched a new, first of it’s kind, Rural Internal Medicine Residency Program. • Several new physicians joined the medical staff: Dr. Benjamin Hagopian, Dr. Eric Gerchman, and Dr. Annamarie Pond, all physicians at Western Maine Primary Care. • Worked in collaboration with other MaineHealth member hospitals to create a common set of values. This process included team members and leaders from across the entire health system. We continue to work diligently with MaineHealth and other partners to develop strategic initiatives and priorities to further improve the delivery of care. Churchill President and CEO 4 5 An Innovative Approach to Training A Patient-Centered Approach to Cancer Care In the fall of 2017, the Rural Internal Medicine Maine (RIMM) program was officially launched. Cancer patients in Oxford County now have access to world-class, coordinated cancer treatment RIMM is a unique internal medicine residency training program that trains doctors at both an urban thanks to an innovative collaboration between MaineHealth members and its affiliate hospitals.
