The DOLS Team support a central team of Best Interests Assessors (BIAs), a wider group of BIAs from other teams in DCC and commission assessments from independent BIAs and doctors. All DOLS assessments are subsequently scrutinised by DCC managers. The team work with colleagues across DCC to promote good practice, skills and understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and DOLS.
