But this city is also a place where people want to invest, work and visit. As Melbourne grows to be a city of 9 million by 2056, a record infrastructure investment is providing the foundation from which to plan and develop our urban places and respond to this record growth. The Andrews Government has established a Priority Precincts portfolio to ensure Melbourne has a focused approach to developing its areas of opportunity. These Priority Precincts bring together ideas, industry and investors. They are places of importance to Melbourne’s story and future and are significant to the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of all Victorians. Priority precincts will support Melbourne’s population and economic growth while helping to address its urban challenges. By working closely with local communities, investors, business partners and local government, we will ensure Melbourne’s distinctive legacy continues. These are places that unite us. They bring us together as a state and connect us with partners across the world. We look forward to partnering with you to develop Melbourne’s Priority Precincts.
