Th e Olivet Nazarene University women’s basketball team enters this season as a veteran group looking to continue the up-tempo tradition laid before them. Th e Tigers currently hold 18 NAIA records. Last season was yet another year marked by fast-paced basketball and record-setting accomplishments. Th e team fi nished that season in fi rst place in seven NAIA categories and broke a total of four NAIA records. Among those, the Tigers broke their own scoring record, setting a new collegiate (NCAA and NAIA) women’s basketball all-time scoring record of 108.3 points per game.

Th is season, the Tigers are hungry for a run to compete on the big stage at the NAIA National Championship Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa. Th ey will look to their tough regular season schedule as preparation for earning their spot, while continuing to grow their national reputation.

Th e Tigers will compete against St. Xavier, (Ill.), Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.), Robert Morris-, and Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.) — all of which are expected to be highly ranked in the NAIA Preseason Coaches Top-25 Poll. Th ey will also face strong non-conference competition against St. Francis (Ind.) and Marian University (Ind.) early in the season.

Taking their annual holiday trip again this year, the Tigers will travel over Th anksgiving to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to play against Sacred Heart University (Puerto Rico) and Pikeville College (Ky.). In December, the Tigers will travel to Branson, Missouri, to play in Th e College of the Ozarks Classic. Th ere, they will face nationally recognized competition against the host school and Oklahoma Wesleyan (Okla.).
