Hello Town of New Hartford Residents! CONTENTS It has been a pleasure serving as your New Hartford Town Supervisor the last 14 months. We have accomplished so many things together and we are set to accomplish much more this year. I would like to share with you SUPERVISOR 1 some of the positive things we will be working on this year. My goal is to show residents where their money is being spent. DEAR RESIDENTS 2 We will be completing all our Town Parks projects

REPORTING A CONCERN 3 • New pickleball courts • Signage • New dog park area and • Parking Areas training course CURBSIDE PICKUP 3 • Pavilion Revitalization • New Farmer’s Market pavilions • Park Lighting • New playground areas • New Bleachers NYSERDA CLEAN ENERGY 3 The completion of the consolidation of our new town offices at the former Gander Mountain will be done May 1, 2019, which is a cost savings to the residents. ICE MAKER UPGRADE 3 The Town will be undertaking many stormwater projects this year.

STORMWATER PROJECTS 3 Upgrading our new chiller and ice maker at the Recreation Center for hockey and skating events.

I will be completing NYSERDA for High Impact Action Items to earn Clean Energy Community IT INFRASTRUCTURE 3 designation which will help us to qualify for grants and bring more cost effective environmental solutions to New Hartford.

BONDING INFORMATION 3 We have integrated and completed our parks and recreation software for online renting of pavilions. Register for our summer program online at our website: www.townofnewhartfordny.gov which will be launched April 1, 2019. PAVING 3 Our food truck event was a success with over 1,500 residents attending last year. We are reinitiating it this year on Tuesday nights from 4-8 pm beginning May 14th through August 20th, 2019. We will also TOWN HALL 3 be implementing our Farmer’s Market the same days from 3-8 pm.

Our annual trash pickup was in such high demand last year, that this year the board decided to EV STATIONS 3 reinstitute it for 2019.

In 2019, we will be upgrading all of our street lighting and traffic lights to LED. FIREWORKS 3 We will be replacing our Town of New Hartford welcome signs with a new clean look.

NH YOUTH EMPLOYMENT 3 We have received a grant from DEC for $128,000 to install electric vehicle recharging stations at the new Town Hall and should be completed this summer.

SUMMER PARKS PROGRAM 3 We will be upgrading 3 of our Police cars to hybrid vehicles.

We will also be upgrading our Animal Control Vehicle this year. SUMMER READING PROGRAMS 4 Our firework celebration is on July 5th at Sherrillbrook Park.

CURBSIDE TRASH PICKUP REINSTATED PAVING

Last year’s curbside pickup was a success. Participants must register for the playgrounds as indicated according to their grade completed in the spring of 2019 and elementary school for which they attend. Only children who are residents of New Hartford and have just completed grades K-6 in the spring of 2019 will be eligible to participate in the 2019 program. Tee shirts will be provided to all participants and a sign-in and sign-out procedure will be strictly implemented. An informational parent meeting will be held at each playground during the first week at each site, at the direction of the playground director, to better inform all parents or guardians of program policies and the rationale behind them. The playground program will continue to offer young children in the community an excellent opportunity to take part in a variety of summer activities. Leadership at the playground will consist of a Playground Director, and a staff of Recreation Leaders. Please be sure to pay the proper fee with your child’s on-line registration and complete all sections accurately to ensure you child’s enrollment at their local summer playground. Again, please pay special attention to the dates, age requirements, fees, locations, and registration procedures as you make your summer program plans. Daily attendance is not a requirement of this program, and participants will have the option of signing up for the daily sponsored activities of their choice. We will continue to give residents the opportunity to bring their household items to the garage at 111 New Hartford Street, New Hartford, New York. We will have dumpsters at the Highway Garage for residents to drop off their waste and an em- TOWN OF NEW HARTFORD ployee will be available to help them unload. This will begin on Monday, April 1 2019 and continue every Monday through September 30 2:00 PM. We will add the 2 Dumpster Drop for drop off as well.
