Biologin ės stoties ved ėju buvo paskirtas Stasys Gliaudys. 1997 m. doc. dr. K ęstu čio Kazimiero Vilkonio pastangomis agrobiologin ė stotis tapo Šiauli ų universiteto (ŠU) Botanikos sodu. Nuo 2000 m. prof. Vidos Motiekaityt ės iniciatyva imtos kurti naujos augal ų kolekcijos, prad ėta bendradarbiauti su pasaulio sodais, vykdant s ėkl ų mainus ir pl ėtojant veikl ą tarptautin ėse organizacijose. ŠU Botanikos sodas yra Tarptautinio Botanikos sod ų konsorciumo (BGCI), Planta Europa, Baltijos j ūros regiono botanikos sod ų, Baltijos šali ų botanikos sod ų bei Lietuvos universitet ų botanikos sod ų asociacijos (LUBSA) narys. 2005 m. 2013 m. In this study two phylogenies are reconstructed using parsimony and Bayesian methods. A family-level phylogeny was estimated to test the monophyly and time of divergence of the South African lineage. This analysis, based on a published ITS phylogeny and an additional ten South African taxa, showed a strongly supported South African clade sister to the campanuloids.

However, we lack demographic data for most species, and the data we have are often geographically aggregated. We determined to what extent existing data can be extrapolated to predict pop- ulation performance across larger sets of species and spatial areas. We used 550 matrix models, across 210 species, sourced from the COMPADRE Plant Matrix Database, to model how climate, geographic proximity and phylogeny predicted population performance.
