Traditions: Are these fables and commandments of men or

are they of Christ?

Author: Pierre Dungee www.getyouranswersonline.com

As we explore what traditions are, let’s first find out what the word tradition means: noun 1. the handing down from generation to generation of the same customs, beliefs, Especially by word of mouth 2. the body of customs, thought, practices, etc, belonging to particular country, people, family, or institution over a relatively long period 3. a specific custom or practice of long standing 4. a doctrine or body of doctrines regarded as having been established by Christ or the apostles though not contained in Scripture 5. a body of laws regarded as having been handed down from Moses orally and only committed to writing in the 2nd century AD 6. the beliefs and customs of Islam supplementing the Koran, esp as embodied in the Sunna 7. the act of formally transferring ownership of movable property; delivery

Let’s further refine our definition:

Traditions are the handing down from generation to generation a doctrine or a body of doctrines regarded as having been established by Christ or the apostles though not contained in Scripture, including the body of customs, beliefs, thought, and practices belonging to a particular country, people, family or institution over a relatively long period of time.

1 Notice in our definition that we see the following phrase:

… the handing down from generation to generation a doctrine or a body of doctrines regarded as having been established by Christ or the apostles though not contained in Scripture…

We can already see the deception in traditions and that deception is evident because these traditions are NOT ANCHORED in SCRIPTURE. This is a prime example of building your house on shifting sand, as shown in scripture here:

Matthew 7:26 - And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

As you can see, is telling His disciples that if they do NOT OBEY the Lord Jesus Christ, that person is foolish. We can find the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout scripture. So if we do things that are NOT what Jesus tells us to do, then we are indeed FOOLISH, and you can see in these traditions that we will show you that many of those traditions ARE foolish.

IF we are in Christ, who is our ROCK, we will not be deceived, but if we make up things that are NOT in scripture, you can be deceived into thinking that what you are doing is of God when it is not. In the next couple of traditions in the Philippines, we will show you how their traditions are not of God, but demonic. Their traditions are in fact VERY demonic, and we will see this in the graphic pictures that are in the article. After we look at the wrong, we will go around the world and show you other traditions to show you just how deluded mankind really is.

In this book, we will concentrate on traditions. We already know that Easter is NOT of the Lord Jesus Christ, but it is a holiday that the devil set up for people to worship that turns people away from Christ and to the demonic things that Easter stands for.

IN this book, we will show you how depraved people’s minds are concerning Easter. There are a lot of celebrations that are ‘’ that are nothing more than demonic activity. We will show you all of this and then get you to understand that traditions are rituals, and rituals are things that the Lord absolutely HATES.

Easter Traditions: Self-Flagellation to get the blood flowing in the Philippines

3 Many of these re-enactments are carried out in the Philippines, which is heavily Catholic. Although it seems that the Catholic Church frown upon this, these practices are done anyway. In an article that is attached below, you can see that many are devout Catholics and they see this as a

means to be close to Christ.

So, you have to ask yourself a question - does Jesus APPROVE of this? What purpose would this serve for those people to continue to beat

themselves to death?

And it gets worse.

Many cut themselves with razors to get the blood flowing. This is done to signify Jesus' walk to Golgatha, where He was crucified. This reminds us about the story of the

Gaterene demoniac, in Mark chapter 5:

Mark 5:1-8 - And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out

of the man, thou unclean spirit.

It looks like demons are the entities that like blood and cut skin so blood flows.

4 As a part of the Easter celebration, many people are going around hitting themselves with sticks and cutting themselves with razors as a part of the ritual that is done in some places today. Many people sit and watch this spectacle, and they are saying that is a part of the

Easter celebration.

What?

Are you serious?

What are these people doing?

How is this celebrating ANYTHING when you are beating yourself to death?

It seems that these people believe that by beating themselves, they are atoning for their sins. Some have made vows to do this as they re-enact the crucifixion of The Lord Jesus

Christ.

As you can see to the left in the picture, the devotee is cutting his friend with a razor, so

there is blood flowing.

Is it really necessary to depict Jesus

crucifixion in this manner?

Can't you see that the demons manifest and show out through their people that they

inhabit when the whole 'tradition' is demonic?

We submit to you that these people are FULL of unclean spirits, and that this ritual or tradition is one of DEMONS. How can anyone sit there and watch this and think that this is HOLY? As we can see in the scripture above, only demons like to cut their host bodies and cause blood to flow, as that is what they LIKE!!

This is a DEMONIZED and NOT a holy one; these people are demon possessed and

they need to be delivered.

So how it that this a celebration of Jesus as a part of the Easter tradition?

It is NOT. These people have been driven out of their minds, as the demons in them are mocking Jesus by re-enacting His walk to Golgatha by crucifying Him afresh. It is no

wonder that the Catholic Church frowns on this, but do you see them stopping it?

No. You don't. This kind of 'celebration' can only happen if demons are involved.

5

Here is another tradition From the Philippines: The

6 Many of these re-enactments are carried out all over the world, mostly in places that are heavily Catholic. Although it seems that the Catholic church frown upon this, these practices are done anyway. In an article that is attached below, you can see that many are devout Catholics and they see this as a means to be

close to Christ.

So, you have to ask yourself a question - What is this fascination with the crucifixion of The

Lord Jesus Christ?

The 'tradition' is that is a way to honour the sacrifice that the Lord Jesus Christ made for us so we can be saved, but you have to ask yourself - who decided that this is the way to 'honour' the Lord Jesus Christ? This is like

having your family 'honour' your life by burying you when you die EVERY year.

What purpose does it serve for people to mutilate themselves by having nails driven into their hands and feet to

'honour' Christ?

Let me clue your in again, Christian. There is NO Honour in torturing someone, and even less honour in watching somone be

tortured.

Just like the group that is striking themselves with bamboo to 'atone' for their sins, this is a MOCKERY of the sacrifice made by the Lord Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ was here watching the people do this, He would have his whip ready to flog each and every single one of you who are perpetuating this LIE that this is honouring Christ!! Look at this picture, Christian - does

this LOOK like someone being Honoured?

It is a picture of someone being TORTURED!!

And for what?

NOTHING.

7 As a part of the Easter celebration, many people are going around re- enacting the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ as a part of the Easter

'tradition'.

What?

Are you serious?

What are these people doing?

How is watching someone get nailed to a tree denote a

'celebration'?

Doesn't it seem odd to you that people are standing around watching this and LIKING seeing someone being nailed through their hands and feet onto

a stake and hung up for all to see? What kind of 'tradition' is THIS??

Would Jesus approve of this?

Can we see how STUPID that is?

Here is the bottom line, Christian. The devil LOST when the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected by the Lord of Hosts, Jesus' Father. Now, to get back at Jesus, the devil has his people crucifying Jesus all over again, every year, and has made THAT the thing that people celebrate INSTEAD of the GOOD that Jesus did for the people whom He had healed, the people whom He had saved, the people whom He had taught. Jesus should be celebrated for the people he set free from the clutches of

the devil.

But No.

8

People are intent on putting on a show of how Jesus was tortured and then nailed to a tree. This is not 'honour', Christian. What 'honour' is it for a person to be TORTURED to

death?

We submit to you that these people are FULL of unclean spirits, and that this ritual or tradition is one of DEMONS. How can anyone sit there and watch this and think that this is HOLY? Only demons cut their host bodies and cause blood to flow, as that is what they LIKE!! This is a DEMONIZED procession and NOT a holy one; these

people are demon possessed and they need to be delivered.

So how is this a celebration of Jesus as a part of the Easter tradition?

It is NOT. These people have been driven out of their minds, as the demons in them are mocking Jesus by re-crucifying Him afresh. It is no wonder that the Catholic Church

frowns on this, but do you see them stopping it?

No. You don't.

This kind of 'celebration' can only happen if demons are involved.

9 Yeah, that was pretty intense. What the sad part about all of this is that those people THINK that they are serving Jesus by serving Him up to be crucified every year. Also, did you notice the torture and blood flow? All of that is demonic; the people that are participating in these traditions are NOT following the Lord Jesus Christ at all. Since many of these people have not consulted their Bibles or, at the least, even asked Jesus what He thought of what they are doing, these people are bringing shame to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ because of their ignorance. As a tradition, they are passing down their ignorance of the Lord from generation to generation, unaware that what they are doing is blaspheming the Lord Jesus Christ by their actions.

This is why following traditions is a very bad idea.

In the next few pages, we searched and found 20 more traditions of Easter as it is celebrated around the world. As you read these traditions, ask yourself thee questions:

 Is Jesus glorified by these activities?

 Are these people paying proper homage to the ONLY person who can absolve them of their sins?

 Do these people realize that by following these traditions, they are enabling demonic activities in their lives?

After we take a look at these activities, we will make a final comment on what you have seen. Now here is full disclosure – we did cherry-pick the weirdest traditions that we could find that will prove our point: Traditions are NOT of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is tradition that leads many astray, as there is NO Biblical basis for the actions that make up the tradition.

In most cases, the tradition is made up by men who have ‘decided’ that what they are doing ‘will be OK’ because God ‘knows their hearts’ as they try to ‘do good’ for Jesus.

Did they EVER THINK TO ASK JESUS WHAT HE THINKS?

Easter Tradition #10: Sprinkling in Hungary

The second day of Easter is called “vízbevető hétfő” (thrown-to-water Monday) in some areas of Hungary, because this is the day of sprinkling. In former times young girls were dragged out by force to the well or the water trough and poured with a bucket of water, or taken by the creek and bathed. Men used to went from house to house to sprinkle girls while singing and rhyming, for which they got red eggs in return. Sprinkling originates from the ancient rite of fertility and purgation. The cleansing power of water in is linked to the christening ceremony.

Easter Tradition #20: Shooting Bunnies in New Zealand

Our kiwi mates in Central Otago have a massive cotton-tail pest problem wrecking havoc on the local environment and to native species. Solution? Shoot as many as possible in a 24-hour period. The Great Hunt, in its 26th year run by the Alexandra Lions Club has seen shooters gathering to unite in reducing the rabbit numbers with around 10,000 killed each year. An effective but controversial tradition Alexandra Lions Club president Eugene Ferreira told The Guardian it was the most effective way to help control land erosion. “A lot of people think of bunnies as nice, cute pets, but for farmers they are an absolute menace …. What we are doing is better than spraying poison which kills all wildlife.”

While this seems as a very practical tradition, how does this tradition glorify Christ? We will admit that we could see how this tradition could be handed down and Jesus MAY be OK with it IF it was not a part of the Easter celebration, which is NOT of Jesus.

Question: How does this tradition glorify Christ?

31

Traditions are Rituals From what we have just shown you, you can clearly see Traditions are also rituals. So we can understand this, let’s take a look at what a ritual is: noun

1. an established or prescribed procedure for a religious or other rite. 2. a system or collection of religious or other rites 3. observance of set forms in public worship. 4. a book of rites or ceremonies. 5. a book containing the offices to be used by priests in administering the sacraments and for visitation ofthe sick, b urial of the dead, etc. 6. a prescribed or established rite, ceremony, proceeding, or service:the ritual of the dead. 7. prescribed, established, or ceremonial acts or features collectively, as in religious services. 8. any practice or pattern of behavior regularly performed in a set manner. 9. a prescribed code of behavior regulating social conduct, as that exemplified by th e raising of one's hat orthe shaking of hands in greeting.

32 Well, that seems interesting. Since we are led to it, let’s look at what rites are: noun

1. a formal or ceremonial act or procedure prescribed or customary in religious or oth er solemn use: rites of baptism; sacrificial rites. 2. a particular form or system of religious or other ceremonial practice: the Roman rite. 3. (often initial capital letter) a liturgy or liturgical system, especially one of the historic al versions of the Eucharistic service: the Anglican Rite. 4. (sometimes initial capital letter) Eastern Church, Western Church. a division or diff erentiation of churchesbased on liturgical practice. 5. any customary observance or practice: the rite of afternoon tea.

What did the bible tell us about rites and rituals? Deuteronomy 23:17-18 - There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God. Let’s look at this in the NKJV version to drive this point home, as this is explained a little clearer in this version: Deuteronomy 23:17-18 - “There shall be no ritual harlot of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted one of the sons of Israel. You shall not bring the wages of a harlot or the price of a dog to the house of the LORD your God for any vowed offering, for both of these are an abomination to the LORD your God. So what exactly was a ritual harlot? A ritual harlot is a person who was practicing sodomy and prostitution for religious rituals, which were obviously demonic. Here is another scripture that shows the Lord’s disdain for rituals and traditions: 2 Kings 23:7 - And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

Let’s look at this in the NKJV version to drive this point home: 2 Kings 23:7 - Then he tore down the ritual booths of the perverted persons that were in the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the wooden image. We bet you didn’t know that the ritual booths were the houses of sodomites!! So what exactly was a ritual booth? It was a little house where those who were practicing sodomy and prostitution for religious rituals did their business. Obviously, the Lord did NOT like these places, and He had the kings tear them down.

33 Let’s look at one last scripture: Ezekiel 20:25-26 - Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live; And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.

Let’s look at this in the NKJV version to drive this point home: Ezekiel 20:25-26 - “Therefore I also gave them up to statutes that were not good, and judgments by which they could not live; and I pronounced them unclean because of their ritual gifts, in that they caused all their firstborn to pass through the fire, that I might make them desolate and that they might know that I am the LORD.” '

So, what does this show you? The Lord absolutely detests rituals!! So if this is the case, why are so many people intent on following traditions that are just rites and rituals to Jesus? Didn’t we see that the Lord of Hosts rejected those rites? Do you think that Jesus will accept these rites and rituals in traditions as valid worship when His father HATED the rituals?

Here is the point – Traditions and Rituals STINK!! These traditions are things that the Lord HATES, even though the people purposed these rituals as worship and remembrance of Jesus at Easter. In fact, Jesus NEVER admonished His disciples to celebrate or observe Easter!

34

In fact, it was the Passover that Jesus admonished them to remember, as you can see in scripture here: Numbers 9:1-5 - And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season. In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it. And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover. And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel. If we look in the Bible, we see that Easter is only mentioned ONCE in the Bible, and here is the scripture: Acts 12:4 - And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Many people say that this passage in the Bible was a mistranslation, but we think that this was accurate. Why? It was because the people in the city where Paul was being held celebrated Easter, and Easter was a pagan holiday. I believe that the Bible accurately recorded what was going on in the city because the people were pagan and followed pagan rituals and traditions.

35 If left up to man, he would make a tradition out of anything, and man often does. Usually traditions may be activities that are pleasurable, but ALL of the time, these traditions are RITUALS or rites of passage. If the Lord Jesus Christ of His Father did NOT sanction the tradition (unlike Passover, which He dud sanction), you can be assured that the tradition is some sort of rite or ritual that people will worship by participating in that tradition, which the Lord HATES. We cannot stress that enough. To show you the depravity of man when it comes to traditions, let’s take a look here and a SMALL portion of what man comes up with:

You have to admit that these traditions are FUN activities;

and as you can see, ANYTHING can be made into a tradition;

Traditions can be found in people groups all over the world;

36

Traditions can be ANYTHING that man thinks up.

Some traditions are downright demonic and strange;

37

Other traditions are academic or can be cultural, almost always based on something that is NOT of the Lord Jesus Christ;

and traditions may not only be holidays, but events such as independence days.

38

The spirit of the Lord is telling you, Christian, to STOP with the traditions and rituals. The Lord absolutely DETESTS rituals, as they get people to start to worship the things in the rituals. This was the biggest problem that the Lord of Hosts had with the Israelites and the Children of Israel. They were constantly wanting to ‘have fun’ at the most inopportune times. You saw this when Moses came back from the mount with the 10 commandments and the people made idols for themselves and were dancing around, as you can see in scripture here: Exodus 32:19 - And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. Were the people Moses was leading following tradition? It can be argued that this is the case, but as you can see, they wanted to ‘have fun’, and if you look closely, ‘fun’ is the entry point for the devil to bind and enslave the people. Does the Lord NOT want people to have fun? To say that He doesn’t would be disingenuous; however, the Lord does want His people to rest and be satisfied in Him. In other words, we should have the joy and peace that the Lord Jesus Christ gives His disciples as they exist IN Him. Traditions are a means to pull worship and attention away from the Lord when the Lord wants His people to be IN Him at all times. Rituals and rites that are a part of traditions are a testament to what the Lord HATES.

39

Here is Our Challenge to all of you:

We challenge you to go to Jesus directly RIGHT NOW and ask Him if what is shown here is true. Use this as a means to start a conversation with The Lord Jesus Christ and sit with

Him and ask Him questions. Start with (asking out loud):

“Jesus, is what I just read true?”

He will answer you, Christian; use this as an opportunity to start the conversation with the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep talking with Him. Get to know Him and He will start to reveal Himself to you.

You need to find out for yourself if what you support or believe is true, and what better way to find out than to ask the Lord Himself? You need to find out for yourself and work out YOUR salvation for YOU, as the scriptures tell us to.
