HEBREW SABBATH SCHOOL UNION OF AMERICA. The Ninth Biennial Meeting of the Hebrew Sabbath School Union of America was held January 16, 1905, in Chicago, 111. The committee appointed to report on the president's message recommended that the president, in the Council of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, urge the amalgamation of these two organizations, so that the work of the Hebrew Sabbath School Union might henceforth be under the supervision of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. The suggestion was adopted, and the work of the Hebrew Sabbath School Union of America will hereafter be done by the Committee on Religious Education of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (which see).

Over one hundred delegates were present. The Order has a membership of 2541, belonging to fourteen lodges in Albany, N. Y.; Boston, Mass.; Brooklyn, N. Y.; Chicago, 111.; Newark, N. J.; New Haven, Conn.; New York (7); and Philadelphia, Pa. Since the foundation of the Order $144,281.36 has been paid out to 722 widows, the present fund for widows being $12,785.71 (May, 1905).
