CoverStory MachineryTechnology METHODOLOGY Food & Beverage Packaging wants to credit the invaluable help from our sister publication Beverage Industry for much of the information for our Top 50 Beverage Pack- agers chart. We have confirmed and added key information, particularly the Chief Packaging Officers as well as Brands. Another notable difference is that we take a global view; BI list is based on worldwide sales for U.S. companies and foreign-held companies that have signifi- cant sales in the U.S. For example, F&BP has added in our Top 10 Kirin Holdings (Japan) and Carslberg Breweries (Denmark), companies that BI does not include. F&BP research includes annual company reports, 10-K filings, perusing company websites and, last but not least, making direct company contact. Sales are based on calendar year 2010 or the most recent fiscal year that conforms to that timeframe. We attempt to separate out these company’s beverage earnings and data from other sources such as foods and other categories to the degree possible. Finally we would like to thank the opponent group for their valuable criticism we would also like to take a moment and express our gratitude to the free software Skype that has enabled us to stay in touch despite the long distance between us. Målilla, Düsseldorf, Helsingborg 2007-05-28 Emma Almqvist Barbara Hruzova Kajsa Olsson Abstract The Swedish coffee culture is changing and bringing new business opportunities for multinational coffee shops. Our purpose with this dissertation was to describe the Swedish coffee culture and its changes. We wanted to increase our knowledge about how these changes can make Sweden a more attractive country for coffee shops, like Starbucks, wanting to establish in Sweden. We choose to use a qualitative method with an abductive approach. To gather the primary data we interviewed one barista and sent questionnaires to staff at different big coffee shops in Sweden. The interview questions were made out of five categories of describing culture by Rugman and Hodgetts. These answers and a multiple of articles helped us to describe the coffee culture and the changes.

  • Customizing Beverages at Starbucks® Stores
June 2020 Customizing Beverages at Starbucks® Stores With more than 170,000 ways to customize beverages at Starbucks® stores, customers can create a favorite drink that fits their lifestyle. To help guide our customers’ decision making, nutrition facts and ingredients for a majority of the beverages served at Starbucks are available on starbucks.com, on the menu boards in Starbucks® stores and on the Starbucks® mobile app. Below are barista tips on how to customize beverages at Starbucks, as well as a selection of drink recommendations to fit a variety of preferences. Barista Customization Tips • Ask for Starbucks Blonde Espresso: Try asking for Starbucks Blonde Espresso in your espresso beverage instead of the traditional Starbucks Signature Espresso baristas use (it’s no extra charge!). Starbucks Blonde Espresso is smooth and subtly sweet, making it perfect for unsweetened beverages like an Americano or Cappuccino – hot or iced. • Select your milk: Customers can choose from whole, 2% milk or nonfat milk, or non-dairy alternatives such as soy, coconut and almond. Customers can also try oatmilk at more than 4,700 stores in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. • Ask for fewer pumps of syrup: To lessen the sweetness of your flavored beverage, ask for fewer pumps of syrup, or select a sugar-free syrup, available in Vanilla or Cinnamon Dolce. • Try a sweetener substitute such as Sweet’N Low®, SPLENDA® or Stevia Blend from Whole Earth. • Ask for “less whip” or “no whip” • Make it “Skinny:” Most handcrafted espresso and Frappuccino® blended beverages can be requested “skinny,” which means the beverage is made with nonfat milk, no whipped cream and a sugar-free syrup if available.
