NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL Propose to Make a Temporary Traffic Order Affecting C139 the Street Between Greenways Lane and C351 Hall

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the B1527 Hempnall Road from its junction with A140 Norwich Road to its junction with U76025 Brick Kiln Lane in the PARISH OF LONG STRATTON because of utility pre- works in advance of construction of new roundabout. The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 21st May 2019 to 22nd May 2019 for the duration of the works, expected to be 2 days within the period. Alternative route is via: B1527 Hempnall Road/ Mill Road/ Bungay Road/ Short New Road/ Church Road, B1332 Norwich Road, A143 Bungay Road/ Old Railway Road/ Bungay Road/ Harleston Bypass/ Brockdish Needham Bypass/ Scole Road/ Lower Street/ Scole Stuston Bypass, A140 Scole Bypass/ Scole Roundabout/ Scole Bypass/ Dickleburgh Roundabout/ Dickleburgh Bypass/ Ipswich Road/ The Street/ Norwich Road (Burston and Shimpling/ Long Stratton/ Hedenham/ Redenhall with Harleston/ Bedingham/ Morningthorpe and Fritton/ Ditchingham/ Dickleburgh and Rushall/ Pulham Market/ Wacton/ Stuston/ Needham/ Wortwell/ Bungay/ Alburgh/ Tivetshall St. Mary/ Topcroft/ Scole/ Brockdish/ Earsham/ Woodton/ Denton/ Tivetshall St. Margaret/ Hempnall/ Brome and Oakley). Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office
Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office. The covering dates of registers in the following list do not conceal any gaps of more than ten years; for the populous urban parishes (such as Great Yarmouth) smaller gaps are indicated. Whenever microfiche or microfilm copies are available they must be used in place of the original registers, some of which are unfit for production. A few parish registers have been digitally photographed and the images are available on computers in the NRO's searchroom. The digital images were produced as a result of partnership projects with other groups and organizations, so we are not able to supply copies of whole registers (either as hard copies or on CD or in any other digital format), although in most cases we have permission to provide printout copies of individual entries.

It had 299 inhabitants in 1881, and comprises 1,125 acres. The rateable value is £1,421. The ehief owners are .T ohn Aldous and .Tames Hill, Esg_s-, Sir Kennett H. Kemp, Bart_, Lord Canterbury, J. Norman-Watson, Esq., and Miss E. Dix, Executors of John Hotson, Esq., are lords of the manor. The CHURCH is a large edifice, consisting of nave, chancel, and square tower with five bells, and its thatched roof was replaced by a tiled one a few years ago.

2017/18 Community Governance Review 1 South Norfolk Community Governance Review 2017 - 2018 A review of all of the parishes in the South Norfolk district; to ensure that community governance for the district continues to be effective and convenient; and reflects the identities and interests of the community. A Review can improve community engagement, build more cohesive communities, create better local democracy and more effective and convenient delivery of local services 2 Why undertake a Review now? Government guidance states that it is good practice to conduct a full Community Governance Review every 10 to 15 years. The last full Community Governance Review in South Norfolk was undertaken in 2002. What kind of Review has to be done? Reviews have to take into account guidance issued under S.100(4) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 by the Secretary of State and the Local Government Boundary Commission for England in March 2010. 3 From the current Government guidance: “A community governance review offers an opportunity to put in place strong, clearly defined boundaries, tied to firm ground features, and remove the many anomalous parish boundaries that exist in England. Reviews also offer the chance to principal councils to consider the future of what may have become redundant or moribund parishes, often the result of an insufficient number of local electors within the area who are willing to serve on a parish council.” 4 The Terms of Reference Section 81 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Heath Act 2007 requires the Council to publish a Terms of Reference document for a Community Governance Review.

Charter Mark Please suggest to any group working voluntarily to support people to reduce loneliness in the Community, that they may apply for a Charter Mark Award. Denton Luncheon Club received their award last week at a ceromony at the Theatre Royal Norwich. We launched an initiative called “No lonely Day” at NCC a few months ago to try and support people who experience loneliness. Many groups already do this including a group of young mums who visit Residential Homes and groups of people so they can enjoy connecting with young children. One group brings small animals to visit the elderly Norfolk County Council plans for Council Tax: 3% Social Service ringfenced increase in Council Tax for Adult Social Service only 2.9% increase for general purpose services to maintain all other services This amounts to about £75 annually on D band property. This is the last year we can have a ring fenced Adult Socia Service supplement of 3% in addition to the General Council Tax levyCastle Museum offering high quality learning family event Fun events, activities and talks are on offer to Norfolk residents through a series of family events planned for Norwich Castle in the next couple of months.

The extensive conservation area in Aylsham stretches from the Manor House on Norwich Road to Millgate at the north; but, also to the north-west of the town, the Blicking conservation area extends southwards to the north-west edge of the town. As to landscape matters, the River Bure flows to the north and around to the south-east of the town. To the south and east of the town, the B1145 Cawston Road and A140 Cromer Road are also important in defining the built edges of Aylsham.
