Procedures to Uninstall Adobe CC Apps in Windows

Towson employees, including student employees, that are registered to access Adobe software should ALWAYS use the Desktop app installed on their university office computer to uninstall Adobe apps.

The procedures below should only be used for two Adobe apps -- Adobe Scout and Gaming SDK. These apps can’t be uninstalled on an office computer using the desktop app.

Classrooms and computer labs will also need to use the procedures below to uninstall Adobe apps on lab images because they don’t use the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Requirements  Computer must be on campus and connected to the wired university network  Administrator rights on the computer (instructions below).  Quit all running applications and don’t work on the computer until the procedures below are completed.

Procedures 1. Grant Yourself Administrator Rights First step is to grant yourself temporary administrator rights on the computer so you can uninstall the Adobe CC app. You can grant yourself rights by selecting the Temporary Computer Administrator Rights Tool at https://webapps.towson.edu/TCAR/

After logging on to the Temporary Computer Administrator Rights Tool:  Check the box in the red rectangle to comply with the terms of the tool.  Select This Computer to grant temporary administrator rights to.  Select Yourself to grant the rights to.  Select 30 min. as the time needed to grant the rights.  Select Install or Update Software as the reason why you need administrator rights.

After submitting the request, you may be prompted to log off and back on for the rights to be granted.

Uninstall Adobe CC Software

1. Windows 10: R-click the Start menu, select Control Panel

Windows 7: Open the Start menu, select Control Panel. (Fig. 1, red arrow)

2. In Control Panel, select Large or Small icons category. (Fig. 2 red arrow)

CAUTION Don’t Uninstall: the following Adobe applications if they are listed. These applications are not part of the Adobe CC collections and should remain installed on the computer. 4. Scroll down and select Scout CC application (Fig. 5), select Uninstall (Fig. 4-red arrow) Figure 5

5. In the Uninstall Options window, different Adobe apps may display different uninstall windows below

If a Remove Preferences option is displayed, check the checkbox (Fig. 6 red arrow) If more than one application is displayed, make certain all application checkboxes are checked. (Fig. 6, green arrow) 7. After checking all boxes, select Uninstall. (Fig. 6 yellow arrow) 8. When uninstallation completed, a window will popup, close the window to continue When “Uninstall Completed” window appears, select Close to exit (Fig 8 red arrow). When trying to uninstall the next Adobe application, If you get a message: “Please wait until the Current program is finished uninstalling or being changed” You must wait until the application disappears from the applications list before proceeding to uninstall the next application (can take a couple minutes). 10. When “Uninstall Complete” window appears (Fig. 8), select Close to exit and continue

11. Repeat the procedures above for Gaming SDK or any other apps you want to uninstall Remember NOT to delete applications listed above in CAUTION Don’t Uninstall.

12. IMPORTANT: after uninstalling all Adobe CC applications, restart your computer.
