Publicado por: Juventud Rebelde Los nipones derrotaron convincentemente a Estados Unidos 9-4 y este lunes defenderán su corona frente a Corea del SurJapón armó un racimo de cinco carreras en el cuarto inning y derrotó este domingo a Estados Unidos (9-4) para avanzar a la gran final del Clásico Mundial contra Corea del Sur.El partido del lunes, en el Dodger Stadium de Los Ángeles, será una reedición de las semifinales de hace tres años, cuando Japón se impuso por 6-0 a Sudcorea para luego ganarle la final a Cuba 10-6. Corea del Sur (6-2) y Japón (6-2) también se han visto las caras cuatro veces en esta edición del torneo, dos en la primera ronda en Tokio y otras dos en la segunda fase en San Diego. Y el saldo ha sido de dos triunfos para cada equipo: los nipones ganaron por 14-2 y 6-2, y los surcoreanos se impusieron por 4-1 y 1-0.Jung Keun Bong (2-0) abrirá por Corea del Sur, mientras que por Japón subirá al montículo Hisashi Iwakuma (1-1). Bong logró sus dos triunfos precisamente contra Japón, en los que apenas toleró seis hits y una carrera. I analyze how script and narration come together to function as a site of expression, and how they connect to questions of visuality, textuality, and materiality. Informed by work from the field of textual humanities, my project brings together new philological approaches to visual aspects of text in literature written in the Japanese script. Because research in English on the visual textuality of Japanese-language literature is scant, my work serves as a fundamental first-step in creating a new area of critical interest by establishing key terms and a general theoretical framework from which to approach the topic. Chapter One establishes the scope of my project and the vocabulary necessary for an analysis of script relative to narrative content; Chapter Two looks at one author’s relationship with written language; and Chapters Three and Four apply the concepts explored in Chapter One to a variety of modern and contemporary literary texts where script plays a central role.
