Ebenso konnten Vergleichsversionen, Coverversionen oder Neuinterpretationen vorgestellt und verglichen werden. Da das Thema „Sampling“ auch im AM-Studium immer wieder ein Thema ist, fiel die Wahl des Autors auf ein Stück, welches seit seiner Veröffentlichung im Jahre 1986 häufig als Inspiration für neue Werke diente und somit zur inoffiziellen „Blaupause“ des Contemporary R’n’B wurde. Verschiedene Elemente des Titels „Why You Treat Me So Bad“ des Interpreten „Club Nouveau“ wurden mehrfach in anderen Produktionen eingesetzt, vom Gesang (in Teilen), über die Hauptmelodie („Hookline“) bis hin zum kompletten Intro.
