Ahmed Dental College & Hospital in 1985 & 1991 respectively. He did his Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital & Health Management from IGNOU in 2011. He pursued his training in Implantology & Maxillofacial Prosthetics from Europe & USA. A vibrant speaker, Dr.Gandhi has made number of presentations at National & International meetings & forums. He has conducted more than 50 courses/programmes on Crown & Bridge Prosthodontics, Implantology & Maxillofacial Prosthetics. He has held many important ofces in National & International bodies in India & abroad. He is the member of Dental Council of India, Vice-President of Asian Academy of Prosthodontics. What can be the better opportunity to know about the Rotary World than through the words of the Stalwart himself? The members of Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar had this pleasure and opportunity to sneak into the world of service of Rotary International by the ‘Knowledge Personied’- PRID Rtn.Shekhar Mehta, in our RWM on 16th November. PRID Rtn.Mehta accompanied by his gracious spouse Rashi Mehta shared his experience in Rotary and very smoothly described that for every Rotarians around the world, what is most important is ‘Service to Society’. PRID Rtn.Shekhar Mehta who also happens to be the Chair of Rotary India Literacy Mission, shared the importance of RILM and how Rotary works for the success of this mission. In the question and answer round PRID Rtn.Shekhar Mehta and spouse Rashi answered the queries of members with great ease. The evening was a blend of knowledge, experience and fun.

Gift of Sight! On 21st November, total 48 cataract surgeries have taken place at our H.C.Garg Rotary Mahanagar Netralaya. Patients from NGO Uttar Howrah Seva Samity (Gopal Bhawan) have undergone their eye surgeries with Intra Ocular Lens (IOL). ‘A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear’; And to keep this smile intact a dental check- up camp was organized at Bidyadharpur High School For Girls, Jadavghar, Haltu on 18th November. Rtn. Dr. Nipa Gandhi and her team did free check-up of more than 80 girls. Rtn. Aditi Ray was also present for hands on service.

Visit to water kiosks On Thursday, 23rd November, Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar visited four Water Kiosks that were built-up at different locations of the City. All the water kiosks are functioning properly and people are being benetted from it.

Similarly, the Team also visited the stitching classes being held at our vocational centre at Topsi. The class is running smoothly with around 15 women who have enrolled themselves to get the vocational training. Our very own Dr.Nikhita Gandhi has won the Radio City Cine Awards for Best Singer Female for the song ‘Boom Boom...’ from the movie Spyder. Mahanagar congratulates her and wishes her all the very best for her upcoming songs.

MAHANAGAR BLOODLINE During this period (13.11.17 to 21.11.17), our Club carried out one B l o o d G r o u p i n g C a m p a n d registered 34 SOS donors for our Bloodline. Camp was conducted at “ADSR Rajarhat Recreation Club” Rajarhat, Newtown on 18th November. We also met need of four patients. On 19th November, Sunday, Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar in association with Nature Club organized a ‘save tree’ awareness campaign under our project Happy Birthday GST (Grow & Save Tree) at Mahanagar Peace Park with the students of La Martiniere School for Girls. Under this project Rotary Mahanagar distributed 20 tree saplings to the children. Project GST
