The alternatives considered were: no development, use of other airports, construction of a new airport, and five different Runway 6/24 alternatives. Purpose and Need 1.1 INTRODUCTION Note: The following information contains a large number of aviation related acronyms. A glossary with definitions is included in Section 8 of this document. Ann Arbor Municipal Airport (ARB) is a public-use, general aviation airport owned and operated by the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The airport is located in Pittsfield Charter Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan and consists of approximately 733 acres. ARB’s operating budget is through a City enterprise fund comprised solely of revenue generated by airport operations.
