2 ABSTRACT This piece explores our journalistic work within the women's lifestyle magazine called Caras, belonging to the Editorial Televisa group. By 2007, Televisa introduced this publication to the Peruvian market with the intention of competing with Cosas magazine and others of that style. As will be explained through these pages, especially in the "professional experience" chapter, Caras had two very marked eras: The first one, which gave priority to classic sections where it realized the life of the celebs, actresses or brand-new fashion designers from Peru, and royal families on the world. The second one, of the reborn of the magazine, which allowed more cultural content, photo gallery section and short-term interviews. This is really the story of an imported magazine model, and of its first editors and writers - I am included - who tried to reduce the aspirational role of the magazine, to give it a much more inclusive DNA, according to the Peruvian reality. Of course, it also accounts for the work of the author of this piece as a story writer and interviewer. The protagonist, by the way, is the same interview. Among the positive things about Caras, it highlighted the possibility of conducting creative interviews to characters from anywhere. Interviews with celebrities, artists, politicians and others embellished the pages of Caras. And although this type of magazine is usually polite with those interviewed, at least Caras tried to bother with certain questions, as would the most formal journalism.
