The decision was made to play a Odocumentary called ‘Miss Representation’ about women’s portrayal in the media in relation to the day of pink and the protests that have been happening in favour of gender equality. The purpose of the screening was to make people more aware of the challenges women face regarding the pressure the media puts on them to appear in a certain way. Students began to catcall and yell harassing comments when photos of women being sexualized in the media were shown. After the showing, nobody stopped to say anything about what had happened, but many people had “The movie made me feel things to say about the day’s events, especially In what way do you think the that there should be better those who witnessed the shocking behaviour. situation could have been ways to solve gender handled better? “Having the movie shown in inequality, but that more Person A smaller groups could have people need to take this issue How did the movie make you feel? contained the “excitement”.
