The Kemen Australian Open events in both trap and skeet would be conducted over 2 days with 100 targets each day and finals to be conducted for the top six competitors in the open, women and junior sections. In the Trap event, the competition was expected to be very fierce with many shooters out to impress. The ACTA National Training Squads in all disciplines were in attendance far the enti& compe- tition and all were keen to record good performances to enhance their prospects for National Team selection for the forthcoming World Cups and World Championships. After 100 targets on the first day, Ben Kelley was out in front on 981100, followed closely by Theresa Dervitt of the US Army on 97, Dominic Grazioli 96, Michael Diamond, Russell Mark, David Alcoriza and Brett Dunstan all on 95. Following up in the women's section, Deserie Baynes was on 90 while Suzie Balogh was in third spot on 871100. Craig Livingston of New Zealand was the overnight leader in the Junior division while Brian Mark was again the early leader in the section for the mature aged gentle- man.
