YOUR O.A.T. ADVENTURE TRAVEL PLANNING GUIDE® The Baltic Capitals & St. Petersburg 2022 Small Groups: 8-16 travelers—guaranteed! (average of 13) Overseas Adventure Travel ® The Leader in Personalized Small Group Adventures on the Road Less Traveled 1 Dear Traveler, At last, the world is opening up again for curious travel lovers like you and me. And the O.A.T. Enhanced! The Baltic Capitals & St. Petersburg itinerary you’ve expressed interest in will be a wonderful way to resume the discoveries that bring us so much joy. You might soon be enjoying standout moments like these: What I love about the little town of Harmi, Estonia, is that it has a lot of heart. Its residents came together to save their local school, and now it’s a thriving hub for community events. Harmi is a new partner of our Grand Circle Foundation, and you’ll live a Day in the Life here, visiting the school and a family farm, and sharing a farm-to-table lunch with our hosts. I love the outdoors and I love art, so my walk in the woods with O.A.T. Trip Experience Leader Inese turned into something extraordinary when she led me along the path called the “Witches Hill” in Lithuania. It’s populated by 80 wooden sculptures of witches, faeries, and spirits that derive from old pagan beliefs. You’ll go there, too (and I bet you’ll be as surprised as I was to learn how prevalent those pagan practices still are.) I was also surprised—and saddened—to learn how terribly the Baltic people were persecuted during the Soviet era.

  • Information Technologies of the Project of New Museum Exposition
Information technologies of the project of new museum exposition “Periods of the history of Kolomenskoye” Author: Olga A. Polyakova Olga A. Polyakova Information technologies of the project of new museum exposition My presentation will deal with Kolomenskoye museum-reserve in Moscow and projects involving use of new technologies that the museum experts intend to employ in their everyday work. Let me say a few words about the museum. It is located in Moscow and occupies a site of 390 hectares. The peculiarity of our museum consists in the fact that quite diverse monuments and objects of cultural heritage are concentrated in it. Lands of Kolomenskoye where the museum is located has been inhabited by people since the most ancient times. The very landscape of Kolomenskoye is the unique object of the cultural heritage. The museum- reserve is situated on a high beautiful place at the Moscow river bank. The oldest trees in Moscow, oaks that are more than 600 years old have survived to the present time in the place. Flood plains, rare herbs and flowers included in the Red book, ravines with exposed geological strata, streams and springs belong to natural monuments. The old park of planted oaks, larches, fir trees, elms and ash trees and gardens of apple and pear trees occupy the greater part of Kolomenskoye plot. The particular value of Kolomenskoye museum is imparted by the fact that the place served as the summer time residence of the Russian tsars for good six hundred years. Originally Kolomenskoye was situated outside Moscow city boundaries. It lies south off the city and Russian potentates did not select the place for their residence on the high beautiful river bank just by chance.

  • Peace in Palestine Via the World Heritage Convention
. Michael K. Madison II. Peace in Palestine ..........through World Heritage Promoting Peace via Global Conventions - 1 - Peace in Palestine via the World Heritage Convention Promoting Peace via Global Conventions The Global Problem "Throughout history, religious differences have divided men and women from their neighbors and have served as justification for some of humankind's bloodiest conflicts. In the modern world, it has become clear that people of all religions must bridge these differences and work together, to ensure our survival and realize the vision of peace that all faiths share." -- H.R.H. Prince El-Hassan bin Talal, Jordan Moderator, WCRP Governing Board Tolerance, Economic Growth and Fear Global peace and harmony is not possible without religious tolerance. Unfortunately, there is no instant microwavable solution. We can’t just add water and/or milk to the current situation and hope that the world will ameliorate itself overnight. No. The world needs help. The problem is not the outliers; it is larger groups of people that need to change. Outliers will always be present. The world needs religious-minded policymakers to take giant steps that lead to peace, but in a mutually beneficial way. Indeed, peace for peace’s sake is not always enough incentive to all parties involved. Therefore, if the conflict cannot be resolved by tolerance, then let it be resolved by greed as we find a way to help the countries involved to achieve a better economic position. If the conflict cannot be resolved by boosting the corresponding economies, then let it be resolved by fear as we convince the nations involved that one false move means it will be - 2 - their country against the rest of the world and not just their “enemy of the day”.
