Dreamland Margate is considered to be the oldest-surviving amusement park in Great Britain: Following a £25 million investment from Arrowgrass Capital Partners, Dreamland reopened in May 2017. The park has been re-landscaped and has meticulously restored vintage rides, world-class entertainment spaces, modern interactive art installations, contemporary street food, bars, restaurants and live entertainment with a backdrop of Margate beach. On Friday 3rd November 2017, Sands Heritage Limited, trading as Dreamland Margate, successfully exited administration. This has been followed by a corporate reorganisation that will put Dreamland in a strong position for the future. The phased expansion planned for Dreamland includes the addition of more rides in 2018 to cater for families and thrill-seekers alike. The events programme will grow exponentially throughout the coming year. Main purpose of job: Dreamland Margate are looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation and improvement of the technical event production of the Dreamland Margate event spaces which consist of two outdoor auditoria; the main outdoor space being a proscenium style auditorium seating 3500 people, and the Dreamland Event Space a manoeuvrable space with a capacity of 15,000 people. They are also required to staff the indoor spaces consisting of manoeuvrable 500 cap ballroom space, a malleable 1200 cap Roller Disco room space and several smaller club style spaces, all with various PA, Lighting and Av system configurations. The role of Production Manager is to work within the Events & Production Teams and part of the Event Production Department, which in turn is responsible for maintaining the strategic and daily delivery for all of Dreamland’s Events & Productions, including a overseeing a production equipment maintenance program. Role and Responsibilities: • Act as deputy to Head of Production and assist with planning events, both internal and client lead. • Assist in the rig and de-rig of technical event production equipment as required. • Brief, direct and co-ordinate technicians on site as required. • Set up, install, tech and de-install equipment on site to a consistently high standard. • As requested by the Head of Production and other Senior Management; set up and test equipment for specific jobs. • Take full responsibility for all non-Dreamland personnel while on site during rigs and de-rigs (e.g. freelancers, crew) and ensure that they are fully briefed. Manage and direct all non- Dreamland personnel throughout the job and maintain safe working practices. • Competent in preparing and operating a wide range of AV, sound and lighting equipment • Good IT skills • Good time management and planning ability • Strong communication skills 'Dreamland' trading name of Sands Heritage Limited: 49 Marine Terrace, Margate, Kent, CT9 1XJ Company No. 09094163. Registered in England and Wales Registered Office • Relevant previous experience in technical entertainment environments with considerable working knowledge of lighting, audio, video and special effects with excellent troubleshooting skills. • Happy to work in and outdoors with a passion for delivering outstanding technical systems in a themed environment. • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures. • Report and advises on all mechanical and electrical faults, defects etc. to the Head of Production and carry out necessary adjustments and repairs as deemed necessary in a timely manner. • As required, attend any training i.e. H & S, plant, manufacturer’s workshops etc. • Understand and interpret technical drawings, schedules, technical specifications and schematics. • Performs other duties as assigned. The above list is not exhaustive, due to the park needs individuals may be required to carry out additional duties. To ensure maximum efficiencies within the park, flexibility is essential. Individuals will be required to assist in other areas. Essential: • A recognised qualification in technical entertainment environments • Attention to detail • Ability & willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice. • Organised, methodical and able to work to deadlines and targets. • Prepared to work as part of team • Experience in working on a Theme park/entertainment environment with complex mechanical and electrical maintenance.
