The MP provides additional standards for specific building types and standards, as well-set principles for mix of uses and activities, housing variety, jobs and tax base, energy and sustainability, transportation choice, and parks and amenities. The site is currently owned and controlled by Ford Land. In June 2018, Ford Land announced Ryan Companies (Ryan) as the Master Developer for the site. Ryan remains in its due diligence period to purchase the property. Ford Land supports the application for amendments to the MP submitted by Ryan. This memo analyzes the public testimony on the proposed amendments in relation to the adopted MP and zoning code text amendments. 1 On October 10, 2018 Ryan submitted proposed Master Plan Amendments to the City. The two‐week Occupaonal Safety and Health Administraon (OSHA) Stand Down event Sco Baron, Corporate Safety Director of Ryan Companies, was held on jobsites across the US and reached presents to a group of workers during the Stand‐Down. approximately 2,500 individuals. On Monday, May 4th, Ryan Companies partnered with 3M to hold an event at the $400 million, five‐block Downtown East project located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. John Gaddini, Regional Safety Director at Ryan Companies, worked with 3M to bring the 3M Safety Roadshow, a new mobile training center, on‐site for the approximately 420 Ryan employees and subcontractors to aend seminars throughout the day. While the main focus was on fall protecon, 3M held addional seminars on respiratory, head, eye, and hearing protecon, as well as safer welding and grinding techniques and confined spaces. The fall protecon poron included two incredibly impacul demonstraons. The first was an hour long seminar where 3M used a mannequin to simulate a fall with protecon and a fall without protecon, demonstrang the difference in what would happen to a worker falling from a building in those same situaons and just how crucial using proper fall protecon is.
