We wish to inform you that the University has good sports facilities with adequate number of Tennis Courts of international standards and indoor, outdoor stadiums. Location: The main campus of GITAM is located in Rushikonda which is 8 km to the north of Visakhapatnam on the Vizag Bhimili beach road ( 23 km from Airport and 15 km from Railway Station) , across a slice of serenity. The city located between the Eastern Ghats mountain range and the Bay of Bengal, is often known as The Jewel of the East Coast, The City of Destiny and the Goa of the East Coast. Visakhapatnam's beaches (such as Ramakrishna Mission Beach 12 km from the venue) and Rushikonda (just Half km), parks (such as Kailasagiri Hill top Park 9 km and VUDA Park 11 km from the venue), Museums (such as the Kursura Submarine Museum 12 km and Visakha Museum 11.5 km), and proximity to areas of natural beauty (such as the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary, Thotlakonda (5 km from the venue), Hill Station Araku Valley (120 km), Borra Caves (110 km) and Ramanaidu Cine Studious (4 km from the venue) have helped the city become a significant tourist destination. Some of the religious sites are also of great importance like ISKCON temple under constriction 2 km from the venue, Simhachalam temple of Lord Narasimha 25 km from the venue, Sri Kanaka Maha Lakshmi Temple 15 km from the venue . Recent archaeological excavations of Buddhist shrines revealed Buddhist dominance in this area and these are recognized as heritage sites that include Boudharamam, Saligudam, Sankaram and Devipuram, etc. Accessing: Air: Visakhapatnam is well connected to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore & Delhi. Rail: Visakhapatnam is a major junction on the commercially important Chennai-Kolkata rail line and is well connected with New Delhi ,Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. IMPORTANT GENERAL INFORMATION. 1. How to reach GITAM from VSKP Railway Station : Participating teams may please intimate the Organizing Secretary at GITAM Visakhapatnam Campus ,their date, mode and time of arrival well in advance. The University is located on the Visakapatnam –Kolkata National Highway (NH 5) Midway between Visakha Zoo park and Madhurawada. Several passengers and City buses shuttle between Vsakhapatnam Railway Station and Madhurawada Via Yenndada . Teams reaching VSKP Railway Station can board buses just in front of the 1st Platform out side of the VSKP Railway Station bus stand and get down at Yendada Village (distance 15 Km), City Buses (from VSKP RS to (Via) Yendada) Nos are- 25R, 25P/R, 25J, 211, 222, 222A ,222R,222D, 211AC. 222K, & 222ME, 400M. From Yendada to GITAM west gate (2 Km), you can get Autos at Yendada. (Conted---3) (3) There is one direct bus in every half an hour (No.900K) from VSKP Railway Station bus stand to GITAM East gate (Via) Beach road .In addition to you can book the Pre Paid Autos and Cabs at VSKP RS for GITAM campus (@ around .250/- for dropping.) Accommodation: The teams shall be provided unfurnished Accommodation in the University Hostel (Durgabai Dheshmuk Sadan ) rooms / common halls one day prior to the commencement of the matches and teams have to vacate the accommodation soon after their last match. Teams should bring their own locks and any other accessories and required to deposit Rs.1,000/-as security money which shall be refunded at the time of departure from the organizers. Team Managers/Coaches will be responsible for their team’s discipline. Any damages if found will be recovered from the teams. Managers’ meeting will be held on 02.12.2018 at 5.00 pm for South Zone Teams and on 05.12.2018 at 5.00 pm for Inter Zonal Teams in the office of the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports, KRM Indoor Stadium GU. 6.The Mangers should hand over four copies of the duly certified Eligibility per-forma along with the players Identity Cards and Xerox copies of their 10th Class or Equivalent, Intermediate pass & provisional certificate of the degree (In case of P.G. Students) Certificates attested by the Director of physical Education concerned must be submitted to the Organizing Secretary in the above meetings for verification. All the participants must carry their I.D. Cards during their stay in the Campus. (Conted---4) (4) 7. Mangers of the teams should pay .1,500/- per match as officiating charges to the organizing committee before the commencement of their match . Matches will be conducted in KRMI Stadium Synthetic Surface (Floor) on Stag International T T Boards with STAG *** balls, The team players are requested to bring their Non- Marked shoes. 8. Smoking & Alcoholic Beverages are strictly prohibited in the campus and if anyone is found indulged in the above, they will be sent out from the hostel/ campus and their accommodation will be cancelled. During the tournament, all the visiting team players must be in the campus before 9.30 PM and no participant is allowed in to the Campus after 9.30 PM during Tournament days. 9. Participating teams must bring their University Flags for the March Past during the inaugural function on 3rd Dec'18 at 9.30 AM. 10.The organizing committee reserves the right to make changes in the program (Venue, Date & Time) to suit its convenience. The decision of the Organizing committee shall be final with regards to matters concerning the Tournament. 11.The tournament will played as per the latest Federation rules and modified AIU Rules. In case of any protest, a fee of .2,000/-will be charged .The protest will be entertained with in 2 hours of the completion of their match. Protests if any shall be decided by the Jury of appeal formed as prescribed by the AIU and of the following members: (a) The Chairman,(b)The Technical Committee members,(c)Chief referee. 12.The Teams should report at the Stadium at least 30 minutes before commencement of the their matches.
