After a walk to Gosuke Katoh, Mandy Alvarez Trenton 45 34 1.5 W1 hit a groundball deep in the hole at shortstop, too deep for Bo Bichette to throw to the plate as Avelino scored the winning run. West Division W L GB Streak The Fisher Cats came within one run off Dillon Tate in the fourth on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly by Max Pentecost. Tate, however, would go on to strand the Akron 46 34 -- W3 tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position. Altoona 40 35 3.5 L2 Richmond 40 38 5.0 W1 In the bottom of the fifth, the Pork Roll padded their lead by rallying for three runs off Dillon, getting an RBI-double from Fleming, a sacrifice fly from Avelino and a run-scoring single from Amburgey on three consecutive at-bats. New Hampshire immediately crept closer in the sixth, however, as Harold Harrisburg 41 39 5.0 L1 Ramirez hit an opposite-field, two-run homer off Tate to cut Trenton’s lead to 5-3. Both teams scored once in the seventh, but after issuing a leadoff walk to Erie 37 41 8.0 W4 Jon Berti in the top of the eighth, Pork Roll reliever Brady Lail surrendered a game-tying two-run homer to Bichette. Bowie 34 45 11.5 L3 Fleming led the Pork Roll with four hits and three RBI, both season-highs, while Bichette’s three hits and two RBI paced New Hampshire. 2018 Monthly Report THUNDER CLAPS: THE RIVALS: The Thunder are amid a 15-game stretch in which they face only Eastern Division foes. His four hits matched a career-high (achieved twice before, most recently 6/12 at Bowie), and his three RBI were a season-high and just one shy of his career-best four RBI (last done 5/5/16 with Tampa). 6/10 Binghamton L 6-0 6/11 ALL IN FOR AVELINO: Over his last five games, Abiatal Avelino is batting .526 (10-for-19) with two home runs and five RBI, and 6/12 @ Bowie W 8-3 has scored eight runs. The 23-year-old from the Dominican Republic is third on the team with 58 hits and nine home runs, and leads 6/13 @ Bowie G1 W 4-3 the Thunder with 15 stolen bases.
