As a result, two temporary Programme Manager opportunities have arisen to be part of this exciting next phase. Working within Business Change but closely aligned to service delivery, you will be part of the Programme, Project and Change Management team whilst directly adding value to services and customers. 1. Children’s Improvement Programme – Quality & Efficiency. The next stage of the Children’s Improvement journey needs to focus on raising quality and delivering efficiency within the overall service design in order to secure a ‘requires improvement’ Ofsted judgement and pave the way for ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’. This second phase will begin in parallel with the embedding of improvement changes, building on the existing improvement programme deliverables. The Programme will deliver high level service re-design and implementation of services that are financially sustainable and simple enough for partners and service users to navigate easily. 2. Technology and People-led Transformation. This programme is to facilitate service re-design by developing new ways of working enabled by technology, infrastructure and skills enhancement. It is a key enabler for the delivery of the wider Core Council Programme portfolio including; Children’s Improvement Programme, Adults’ Transformation Programme, Digital and Customer Services Programme and Smart Programme. It is also directly dependant on the technology landscape set out in the ICT Strategy that will deliver changes to technology infrastructure, hardware, systems and applications and on the timeline imposed by the end of the current SWOne contract. You will have the ability, skills and demonstrable experience of successfully working with elected Members, Directors and partners on complex Programmes, and the development of strategic direction to deliver transformation. With strong stakeholder management skills to achieve buy-in at all levels and embed sustainable change, you will be highly analytical and confident in applying a data led approach, possibly having already delivered Lean projects and programmes. You will possess the ability to prioritise, identify and make a case for opportunities and maintain quality plans focused on benefit delivery. We are looking for Project Managers who will have a key role in ensuring successful delivery of this programme by working to deliver projects across various service areas. Consequently we have been able to embed a solution oriented approach with schools, based upon a well-established ‘Plan Do Review’ process, which is highly regarded by schools and others. The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) benefits from being part of Somerset Support Services for Education, an internal trading arm of the county council. This enables the service to have a clear commissioning framework within which to operate, and a clear strategy for providing additionally commissioned services to schools and other providers. The EPS delivers services in a range of settings and also in partnership with other services to provide support to specific groups including: children in specialist provision, Children in Care and adopted children, YOT, autism, research and project work, restrictive physical interventions (Team Teach). In addition many schools commission an enhanced EP service. The EPS also coordinates and provides support for schools when required in managing critical incidents. There are on-going opportunities for members of the service to engage in research and project work. The service also coordinates and delivers training for schools including Team Teach, ELSA and Attachment and Resilience to name but a few. This wide range of work provides psychologists with exciting opportunities and a diversity to their role.
