    n the Inventory for this, the largest, county in Wales, just issued by the Royal Commission on Ancient Monuments in Wales and Monmouthshire, are the following references to Friends' Meeting Houses and Burial Grounds, visited and reported upon by its Inspecting Officer, George Eyre Evans. FRIENDS' BURIAL GROUND, parish of Llandingat Within. (6in. Ord. Surv. sheet, Carm. 18 S.W. ; lat. 51° 59'39"; long. 3° 48' 10*.) A small site two perches in extent, now covered by railway premises, was formerly known as " Cae Quakers." The ground was acquired in 1689 by the Society of Friends for a Burial Ground, and interments continued to be made in it until the first few years of the nineteenth century. The space was enclosed by walls, and entered by an oaken door on which was the date 1752. The Friends decreased in numbers and influence, and the little burial place was neglected. In 1864 it was acquired for railway purposes, and all recollection of it has faded away save from the memories of a few of the older inhabitants.—Visited 7th April, 1913.* Transactions Carm.     Marine Character Areas MCA 24 CARMARTHEN BAY & ESTUARIES Location and boundaries This Marine Character Area (MCA) comprises the large-scale Carmarthen Bay and the major estuaries that flow into it: the Taf, Tywi, Gwendraeth and Loughor. The MCA reflects how ‘Carmarthen Bay’ is recognised from a marine navigation perspective (Imray, 2008). It includes all of Caldey Island and its surrounding waters, as well as the shallows, overfalls and area of high wave climate associated with the Offing Patches to the south. It includes all of the local Pembrokeshire Seascape Character Areas 38: Lydstep Haven Coastal Waters, 39: Tenby and Caldey Island, 40: Carmarthen Bay West, 41: Carmarthen Bay North to Pendine Sands and 42: Carmarthen Bay. The boundary with the Gower MCA is formed by the tidal island of Burry Holmes, and in the marine area – the Helwick Channel (strongly associated with navigating around the Gower peninsular). www.naturalresourceswales.gov.uk MCA 24 Carmarthen Bay & Estuaries - Page 1 of 9 Key Characteristics Key Characteristics A large scale, open south facing tidal bay, fed by the major estuaries of the Taf, Tywi, Gwendraeth and Loughor. Gently shelving, shallow sandy sea floor less than 30m deep along the outer edge of the bay. Inner bay is sheltered by the adjacent land, with wave exposure increasing in the centre.
