Item date of manufacture date of purchase drilling unit serial number trailer serial number engine serial number JT20 Operator’s Manual Overview - 3 Intended Use Intended Use The JT20 is a self-contained horizontal directional drilling unit designed to install buried cable and pipe at distances to 400’ (122 m) depending on soil conditions and is intended for operation in ambient temperatures from 0° to 115°F (-18° to 46°C). Use in any other way is considered contrary to the intended use. The JT20 can be used with Ditch Witch® drilling fluid units and Subsite® Electronics locating equipment. It should be operated, serviced, and repaired only by persons familiar with its particular characteristics and acquainted with the relevant safety procedures. Equipment Modification This equipment was designed and built in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. Modification of equipment could mean that it will no longer meet regulations and may not function properly or in accordance with the operating instructions. Modification of equipment should only be made by competent personnel possessing knowledge of applicable standards, regulations, equipment design functionality/requirements and any required specialized testing. N 16819 RF Exposure Statement In order to comply with RF exposure requirements during normal operation, this device must be held in front of the body horizontally. The antenna must be vertical in line with the body with at least 4” (100 mm) separation distance from the body. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
