Title: Wednesday, October 31, 2018 1:30 p.m. Misty will graduate with distinction from the U of A’s visual arts 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 certificate program in 2019, where she earned three scholarships. Earlier this year she curated a show at the Art Gallery of Alberta for [The Speaker in the chair] 13 emerging Edmonton and area artists. She also volunteered as a lead artist in the longest mural in Canada project, which, of course, The Speaker: Good afternoon. Please be seated. my colleague from Calgary-Northern Hills will speak of more later today. I ask Misty to now rise and receive the traditional warm head: Introduction of Guests welcome of this Assembly. The Speaker: The hon. Minister of Education. The Speaker: Welcome. The hon. Member for Calgary-Mountain View. Mr. Eggen: Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I’m very pleased to rise today and introduce to you and through you to all members of the House Dr. Swann: Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker. A great pleasure 32 members of the television and radio arts program from NAIT, to stand and introduce to you and through you to the House a long- here in the city of Edmonton. They’re accompanied by their standing member of the staff here in the Legislative Assembly instructor, Lamya Asiff. I’m sure they’re going to learn lots of hot Office and the library, Ms Ingrid Dandanell. No stranger to the tips on how to cover politicians

  • RMA Fall 2018 Convention Highlights
    CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS FALL 2018 PRESIDENT’S SPEECH RMA President Al Kemmere took the stage at the fall Rural crime is a major issue across Alberta. Recent work has been to raise the Government of Alberta and the Alberta Urban FCM’s focus on rural issues through supporting content Municipalities Association (AUMA) to begin determining development for the FCM conference, sponsoring a what municipal funding will look like following the MSI’s resolution calling for the Government of Canada to adopt expiry. RMA supports a predictable funding model that a “rural lens” when making policy decisions, and other acknowledges the important role that municipalities play collaboration on issues such as rural broadband, asset in maintaining infrastructure and providing services.

Established in Fairfax in 1972, Mason today operates several campuses across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region and in Incheon, South Korea. Since 2016, Mason is one of the 115 universities in the U.S. in the highest research category of the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Before becoming Mason’s president in 2012, Cabrera led IE Business School in Madrid, and Thunderbird School of Global Management, now affiliated with Arizona State University. Cabrera is the first native of Spain to have served as president of an American university. As a business educator, Cabrera played a key role in advancing professional ethics, internationalization, and corporate social responsibility. As a senior advisor to the United Nations Global Compact, he was the lead author of the Principles of Responsible Management Education, now adopted by more than 500 business schools around the world. AWA has a longstanding interest in the conservation of Alberta’s native grasslands and has advocated for their protection since our founding in 1965. In 2021, less than 50 percent of native cover remains within Alberta’s Grasslands Natural Region; moreover, that cover is highly fragmented. The significant contributions of oil and gas development to native prairie habitat loss are well-documented. In order to protect what precious native prairie habitat remains we ask you to remove these PNG lease rights from the January 13, 2021 Public Offering of Crown Petroleum and Natural Gas Rights. Firstly, we are concerned about PNG development within the Milk River Natural Area (Lease #A0001) as it contains native grasslands and habitat for threatened populations of swift fox and Greater short- horned lizard. While the proposed lease is subject to additional restrictions, we do not believe these are sufficient to protect native prairie and species at risk habitat. For instance, directional/horizontal drilling may not be sufficiently restrictive.
