Dr. Dwyer helped to expand SXU; the next President Photo: wikipedia.org should take his or her time to strengthen our school from the inside. He or she needs to make it a point to be known and respected by the student population. Dr. Dwyer did plenty of positive things for Saint Xavier, and because of that the next President can have a different focus. We believe that focus should be not on growth and expansion, but instead on making what we already have better. Dr. Dwyer helped get more students interested in Saint Xavier, helped convince more people to enroll. Her successor should be somebody who will work with the students, to reassure them they made the right choice in coming to SXU. If the new President of Saint Xavier focuses on what SXU already is instead of what it might become, it will only serve to make things better for those at SXU. If not, the University will miss out on a golden opportunity for improvement. Dr. Dwyer led the school to seize many such opportunities, and the school now has a chance to seize another such opportunity, albeit in a completely different area. The two also share a common bond of staying as far away from their family as possible during the holidays. For years, the two have been lying to their parents, saying that they have been too busy doing charity work in another country. Their real destination was Fiji. Their flight, along with all other flights that day, was cancelled due to foggy weather. The local news channel was doing a report on the flights being grounded and decided to interview Brad and Kate. After appearing on television, the two get calls from their parents and are forced to make an appearance at four houses in one day. Vince Vaughn provides some of his usual comedic talent as lawyer Brad, who clearly wants to keep far away from his hillbilly family. There were scenes that seemed ad-libbed, which Vaughn easily pulled off. Reese Witherspoon, who I would never imagine being romantic co-stars with Vaughn, was convincing as his partner. The characters are definitely damaged, especially when it comes to love, marriage and family dynamics. Some of the gags in the movie were somewhat overdone, such as Brad's adult brothers tag teaming him in various wrestling "games."
