Very good and Well developedBy Jason RayleThe story is very good and well developed. It is a surprising story plot full of suspense and brutality. It starts off dark, but at the end the story becomes very hopeful for the people. I am looking forward to hear the next part in the trilogy.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Taunt Doctor Who Adventure!By Joseph Baneth AllenJust finished listening to "Doctor Who #196 - Equilibrium" released by Big Finish Productions.Spoiler Alert - Move on and don't if you haven't listened to this audio adventure or previous ones."Equilibrium" is the second adventure in the new E-Space trilogy; and it's quite the disturbing, thought provoking tale of environmental extremism taken to its ultimate conclusion of environmental balance. With the TARDIS disabled by the theft of a component necessary for it to navigate safely in the Vortex,; the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan, and Turlough follow the trail left by the thief and crash land on the frozen planet of Isenfel - where survival and life extracts a high price. Changing the system this time may not be so easy for the Doctor when he discovers that Isenfel is really a complex experiment designed to halt the decay of E-Space. For if the Doctors and his companions interfere this time, they will condemn an entire universe to decay and collapse.Taunt Adventure!Five Stars!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Black snow and balanceBy Hatbox DragonFifth Doctor audio drama sequel to The Lady of Mercia, set between the TV episodes Enlightenment and The King's Demons. The TARDIS is still stuck in E-Space and the search for a way out continues. The planet Isenfell might hold the key, if the Doctor and his companions can survive its many dangers: perpetual ice, fierce beasts, black snow, the harsh customs of the locals - and an ancient secret that's best left undisturbed ...There's a lot of drama and action here within an intriguing setting and a well structured plot. The regular cast shine and all, with the exception of Nyssa, contribute to the action. The guest cast play a strong role in the story and are well acted, though Joanna Kirkland (Princess Inger) is a little too stagey for my liking. The bleakness of the setting is effectively conveyed and plays a significant role in the story. I didn't like the denouement, for reasons I will explain below, but you may think it's just fine. A little more attention to detail would have been appreciated; for example, Queen Karlina is addressed in a variety of ways that each convey a different idea of relative status, and these things really matter when trying to build up a picture of a feudal society for the listener.***Spoilers below***The Doctor manages to screw things up for the locals by tinkering with the parameters of Isenfell without knowing what it is and why it was built. Genius! Yes, he often makes hasty decisions but this seems too cavalier, even for him. Then everyone gets angsty and guilty about what they didn't know and couldn't have done anything about even if they had known. The TARDIS is recovered quite easily in the end through sheer technobabble. And then it turns out that in a short time, none of this is going to matter anyway, which is a real downer to end on. I prefer my drama to come without the gratuitous death of billions ... Still looking for a way out of E-Space, the TARDIS crashes to Isenfel - a realm of snow and ice. Snarling beasts stalk the frozen plains, a feisty princess leads the hunt, and a queen in an ice palace rules over her loyal subjects. But this is no fairytale kingdom, and everyone in Isenfel knows the price of survival. While Nyssa and Tegan uncover deadly secrets hidden in the palace, Turlough flees for his life across the tundra. And as for the Doctor...he only ever wants to change things for the better. But in a world such as Isenfel, such a hope may not even be possible. Brings together the popular 1983 team of the Fifth Doctor and companions Tegan, Nyssa and Turlough. Also features Annette Badland (Wizards vs Aliens, Doctor Who, Eastenders) and Nikolas Grace (Robin of Sherwood). Cast: Peter Davison (The Doctor), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Janet Fielding (Tegan), Mark Strickson (Turlough), Annette Badland (Queen Karlina), Nickolas Grace (Balancer Skaarsgard/Viktor Skaarsgard), Joanna Kirkland (Inger), John Albasiny (Jesper), Ella Kennion (Romy). PRESS RELEASE Shakespeare’s Globe announces full casting for Edward II and After Edward 18 December 2018 Shakespeare’s Globe is delighted to announce the full cast for Christopher Marlowe’s Edward II, directed by Nick Bagnall, and for Tom Stuart’s new play After Edward, directed by Brendan O’Hea. Examining ancestral relationships and notions of identity, sexuality and power, Marlowe’s Edward II sees King Edward recall his lover, Gaveston, from banishment, setting in motion a chain of events that culminate in some of the most shocking scenes in early modern theatre. Tom Stuart’s new play After Edward, written specifically for the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in response to Edward II, sees Edward return to the stage alone, bloodied and confused. He has no idea where he is, or how he got here, but he does have an ominous feeling that something is wrong. Performed by the same cast of actors, Edward II opens in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse on Thursday 7 February, followed by After Edward on Thursday 21 March. Tom Stuart, writer of After Edward, will play the titular role in both productions. Tom has appeared as an actor at Shakespeare’s Globe in many productions including The Broken Heart, The Changeling (2015), Romeo & Juliet (2009) and Much Ado About Nothing (2007). He performed in the Battersea Arts Centre’s production of Edward II in 2008. His screen credits include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, People Just Do Nothing (BBC), Psychobitches (Sky Arts), and A Good Year. Tom has been working in film, television and theatre as an actor for 14 years.

Stephen admits he is a huge admirer of Noël’s diligence - something he endeavours to emulate in his own life. Barbara Longford welcomed Stephen with a resumé of the statue’s history: “ This statue, by Angela Conner, was commissioned at the behest of the late Graham Payn, for the Centenary Celebrations of Coward’s birth, in 1999.
